We have tried chemo, but the liver and kidneys shut down, so we were forced to stop. We are now at a hospital in Mexico that encourages a strict alkalaine diet to help combat the growth of cancer. We are set to return home in 3 weeks.

Is this true, and if so, what is this huge rush to find a cure for aids. Maybe we should focus on the cancer?

You have to be 40 years old before insurance companies will cover a mammograms. That seems irresponsible since there are thousands of women under 40 that have breast cancer and they would have to wait till 40 to receive their first mammogram. Even though my mom had cancer that wasn't enough for them to help pay for my first mammogram. I had to wait another year before finding a lump in my breast and my doctor had to write that it was necessary before they would approve an appointment.
I don't have cancer as far as I know. But after my mom went in 6 years in a row throughout the 80's for mammogram with a lump that went from marble to golf ball size- they were only able to diagnose cancer on the second biopsy and by that time it had spread to her lymph-nodes under her arms. So I am skeptical of the entire process and even though my mom is missing both her breasts now- I for see that no matter what happens I will most likely have the same result or worse death.

Do doctors tell the patient the full story? If someone had cancer and it had spread and become secondary (bowel primary, liver secondary), what would the Doctors say?
On doing my own research i have discovered how unfavourable this is, however my relative has not said anything about what the doctors have said to him.
What i am wondering is, whether the Doctors have told him that his chances may not be great, or would they not tell unless you asked? Sorry i hope this question makes sense.

Does anyone else wonder if we will see an increase in cancerous brain tumors because people walk (and drive) around with cell phones attached to their ears all the time? I'm serious! This can't be good to have electronics so close to your head for so much of the day.
