I noticed about 6 weeks ago a swollen area in my supraclavicular area on the left side. My Doc gave me and ultrasound that showed a slightly swollen lymph node and he said it was most likely due to an infection and to let him know if it did not go away in a couple weeks. It didn't so he ordered a CT scan of my chest and of the left supraclavicular area which was negative. I am still concerned with this swelling. It feels squishy and protrudes above my collarbone. I haven't had an infection that I am aware of except for a bout of bronchitis with a cough back in March. I do however have some pain in my left shoulder but I attribute that to degenerative disease of aging and many years working in the Nursing field. Any thoughts or ideas about supraclavicular swelling and what may be some causes?

Any swelling inlymph notes as mentioned by you should not be taken esily. May be the infections and ailment mentioned by you ar related. I am sure you have consulted a Doctor and as per his advise only you are taking theantibiotic Bioxin, as this antibiotic can cause lot of side effects.

In my opinion also you need to have a Biopsy of the Lymph node (very easy proceedure), the supraclavicular lymph nodes are to be watched for Lymphoma. Consult your doctor on this immediately.

Good Luck

SEE A DOCTOR.
Have the Lymph node biopsied [fine needle aspiration].
The supraclavicular lymph nodes are frequently the sentinel nodes for Lymphoma.

It could be something else, or the abcesses making your lymph nodes swell, but don't stop until you get an answer. If antibiotics aren't making the swelling go down, you could have a problem.

Hope everything is ok. It wasn't for me.
