Smoke pot, it really helps. And keep giving him fluids, water, juice, Gatoraid. There's a risk of dehydration.

You didnt say if your friend was undergoing treatment or not. Chemo can make you really sick as can radiation.
Just being a friend is the best medicine you can use. You might not beable to get rid of his cancer but you can be a strong pillar for him to lean on, a sympathic ear when he needs to spout off, share his fears or just cry, and you can learn alot about someones strength when they are ill.
You could look online for some healthy "treats" to help him keep down some nutrients. I would call a nutrionist if his Dr hasnt already told him too.
Good luck and blessings to you both..I wish him a speedy recovery. You are a great friend..right now that is what he needs!!

I'm so sorry your friend has cancer,it's probably the treatment they are getting that is making your friend be like this,as i know this does happen,i think the only way you can help is by doing just what you are doing, and is just being there for him/her,it's a very important and wonderful thing to have your friends about at this awful time,i wish both you and your friend all the best, and good luck to you,you are already doing a great job

you know its not the cancer that's making him throw up...its the drugs that they give him for chemotherapy..you can get self induced nausea from chemotherapy.its like a virus that feeds on a host and cancer knows no boundaries...i agree with prior advice on clear liquids, jello and crackers tell him to eat slow and take his time. Cancer eats up the nutrition that was meant for the normal cells in the body. the best thing i can tell you is to be there for him right now because he needs you. Give him something to drink better if you cant hold down solid foods and thats all you can do ...like Ensure or something like that...

My step son has cancer and is currently undergoing chemo. He has some of the same symptoms. Unfortunately there is not much you can do.
YOu can be supportive, which from you question I can see you are.
SOmetimes I rub his back, or head and this helps. (not sure how this would go over with your friend)
If he is at home, warm baths, and sleep help. If certain foods, or conditions cause this, help him to avoid this.
If you can, also find out as much as you can about the type of cancer and treatment he is undergoing. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!!

Is your friend at home or in a hospital? If he is home is hospice involved in the care? The are many excellent meds available to help with symptom management. lomotil for the diarrhea, phenergan for the nausea and vomiting. Also, is his pain controlled? Just being there and being a friend should be a wonderful comfort. Bless you for being such a wonderful caregiver.
p.s. some suggested pot....just remember it is still illegal.

My cousin has cancer and was experiencing the same symptoms. He eats the same type foods as someone who has a cold: clear broths, soups, jello, apple sauce, pudding, juices (especially V-8...it has lots of vitamins), etc. Anything soft or liquid...lots of ice chips. His wife even juices his vegetables.
You may want to consult with his doctor about food choices. Good luck!
Bless you for being such a caring friend and bless your friend, I hope he is in remission soon.

I have never contacted them, but I see commercials for the Cancer Treatment Centers that are there for all aspects of dealing with the disease. You might also check web.md for ideas, but I think your wanting to help so much will be the biggest plus. I hope your friend gets better very soon.

Bless you both. If he is willing, have him try some pot. It really does help with the nausea and keeping food down. Keep him well hydrated, it may be that he can only tolerate sips at a time. Do whatever you can to make him comfortable and hopeful. Pray.

See: How to Prevent and Treat Cancer with Natural Medicine, by Michael Murray; and also: Beating Cancer With Nutrition, by Pat Quillen. Both books are full of helpful advice. Also, work with your friend's doctor to see what he/she can offer to do to help him.
