I was told by my doctor that I should get a mamagram (I'm 37, no history in the family) because she found a small (1 cm) lump in my left breast. Thoughts on what the chances are it can be breast cancer?

It has been reccommended that I wait 6 months and repeat the mammogram. My GP has referred me to a surgeon because we both feel a small mass in the same area, and not comfortable with the wait and see approach. Can this be a site that is regional spread of something more serious, should I have a fine needle biopsy?

I have Psoriatic Arthritis, and currently take 40mg Humira injection once a week, and have been on it for over a year now. Prior to that I was on Remicade infussions, and prior to that was Enbrel with Methotrexate. They are now saying that people who take Humira or Remicade are 2-3 times more likely to develop several types of cancer. Has anyone developed any problems from these medications yet or has your rheaumatologist taken you off of it because of the risks?

I am just curious, I thought that by now with the new HPV vaccine, there would be a lot more interest in this condition. I work with a lot of teenegers, and so few of them have not clue about HPV. Basic things like the fact that people can get it with condoms or without it, or that there are over 100 different strains, or that the new vaccine will cover about 70% of some of the main strains is like chinese to them. I have discovered that a lot of people that teach sex ed do not like to talk too much about HPV becasue it is a virus that you can often get even when you wear a condom (similar to Herpes), and they think that this might be in a way diminish the benefits of teaching to wear a condom. Also the fact that some people get HPV and get not sytoms (specially males who become carriers) might be a reason too. HPV can cause so much infertility and cancer, so I am very curious to learn what people think, specially teens and young adults.

I just found out yesterday that my grandad of 60years old may have cancer.I was really upset when i heard it and i am really worried for him.He wont get the results back until another month and i am praying there is nothing wrong.I think the cancer is in the liver do you think he will be ok and will you pray that he will be okay??Thanks

I HAVE LONG BROWN, THICK, WAVY HAIR (DOWN TO MY WAIST). I HAVE BEEN TOLD, NOT ASKED, BUT TOLD NOT TO COLOR MY HAIR BECAUSE I COULD GET CANCER BY THE CHEMICALS USED.

I mean just in terms of general discomfort... not involving sticking hands up butts and feeling around.

See... I've got this interesting pain just a tiny bit northward of my groinal parts.... a rather inexplicable and temporary pain, but uncomfortable in an amusing sort of way regardless.

I know my family are rather prone to cancer... my mother's father and my own father both having died of it... and since one in three people die of cancer at some point, I wouldn't be surprised if I'd go the same way (unless I voluntarily end myself before that).

I'm just wondering if pains in that region could indicate cancer at all or whether its just something else. It didn't go away when I went for a p!ss... so its not bladder issues, I imagine...

Oh.... and no... I'm not going to see a doctor.
If it is cancer, I fully intend to just suffer it out to whatever end it may bring.
[Note to theists: life is not sacred... its an accident, and is fundamentally worthless, including mine.]

My dad died of it within 8 days of being diagnosed! He has only been sick for 2 months before that. Is there any medical researchers on this type of cancer?
