Hello, Tree Cancer is the slag term for Extrahepatic Bile Duct Cancer~ This is an extremely rare cancer in which the tissues of the extra hepatic biliary tree originate the cancer. It is known as a cholangiocarcinoma.

**~~What is the Extrahepatic Biliary Tree?

The bile duct is a tube which acts as a conduit between the liver and the gall bladder and it connects them to the small intestine. The path of the bile duct which lies outside the liver is known as the extrahepatic bile duct. The path of the bile duct which lies inside the liver is known as the intrahepatic bile duct. The bile duct gives various branches until it forms the common bile duct at the bottom part.

Bile is a fluid which is made by the liver and breaks down fats during digestion. It is stored in a pouch-like organ, located at the base of the liver, which is known as the gall bladder.

Food, after being broken down in the intestines is admixed with bile released from the gall bladder through the bile duct to the first part of the small intestine, which is known as the duodenum.

The question is pretty non-specific, but I'll take a stab at it.

Are you referring to cancers of the extrahepatic biliary tree? In this case 'tree' refers to the branches that extend out from the bile duct. Bile is the fluid made by the liver and helps break up fats during digestion. The bile duct is a tube that extends between the liver and gallbladder and connects them both to the small intestine. The branch of the bile duct that extends into the liver is called extrahepatic bile duct and the branch that runs outside the liver is called intrahepatic bile duct.

Extrahepatic bile duct cancer is referred to as cholangiocarcinoma. It is extremely rare.

If this is the cancer you mean, than you can find more information about it at the National Cancer Institute:

Good luck.
