If you had cancer and there was a cure for it, but one of the symptoms is that you switch genders physically, would you take it?

That's a hell of a side-effect.

I'd have to answer no. Not because I wouldn't want to live, but I figure if it's got such a wild side effect, there must be something really wrong that it's doing to you.

I know you're looking for a response to "how horrible is it to change genders?" and I guess I really don't know. I really enjoy being a man, but I really enjoy being alive, too.

Of course no such cancer exists, but if the situation was "Death or Gender Switch", then I would suspect that people would give serious consideration to the switch. This does create a problem to the patients married spouse who have to divorce or be a homosexual.

Seems that women are more accepting of switching to male, than male to female.. Does that mean that being male has more advantages?

If I had to switch genders then I would probably not change much outwardly... I mean I would still dress in shirts and jeans. I wouldn't menstruate. I wouldn't bear children. I would continue to wear my hair short. Perhaps I could still pass as a man. This would only be practical. I once dressed in drag and it wasn't pretty.

YES, YES. I had cancer and it was successfully removed. I am an adult woman of 57 years. Should the cancer return and there be a cure, than yes, I would jump at the chance of getting better and wouldn't mind changing sexes as it would give me the opportunity to see exactly how the other person would live and act-out life's ups and downs.

Me........definetely not . Hey , I'm a guy and that's the way I was meant to be . I would rather tough it out with the conventional treatments .

Yes, simply because I would want to live no matter what, for lots of reasons.
