How do you join pieces together. You don't just leave a raw edge to edge connection do you. I would think you would turn the edge under just a little and stick it to the backing stuff. Once you have all your pieces stuck down, what do you do next? I've never made a quilt before (as you can tell) Your detailed help is most appreciated.

I've sewen probably one thing in my life before and it looked like a 2 year old sewed it. Are there any books out there that are perfect for a rookie sewer? I'm not necessarily looking to sew clothing, but more or less basic hand stitches. Thanks!

slow-paced scrapbookers? I bought my first Creative Memories album eight years ago and still only have a few pages done. I bought some of the CM tools but I also have items from craft stores like HobbyLobby & Michael's. I am looking for a brand of genuine leather albums with pages that are easy to find in the craft stores or Wal-Mart/Target and are not overly priced. I'm thinking of getting rid of all the un-neccessary tools and junk and just doing pics with writing so that I can actually get them done. I'm eight years behind. Anyone have any suggestions?

There is a sewing machine on sale today and I am considering buying it. I used to sew my Barbies's clothes so I'm hoping now in my twenties that I'll manage to make something for myself!! I am tired of paying small fortunes for simple articles of clothing and hoping I can make skirts and dresses for start. Any opinions? Is it worth it? What else can you tell me?

Thank you in advance.

My dad was in the navy for around 13 years, and since I couldn't see him for about six months at a time my mom would get me these model kits of submarines to do. It ended up being that each time my dad got on a new submarine, my mom would find a new kit for that sub. It just became a hobby and I can't find this stuff anywhere in stores. Only on the internet.

I am trying to sew on an applique I made from fabric. It has that therm o web bonding on the back side. I am using the applique stich on my machine. It started to stitch it and then got stuck in the bottom of the machine where the bobbin is. I took a scrap piece of fabric and it stitches just fine. Why is it doing this? Is the tension not set right? The fabric of the applique is made of cotton blend. Please help.
