How do you join pieces together. You don't just leave a raw edge to edge connection do you. I would think you would turn the edge under just a little and stick it to the backing stuff. Once you have all your pieces stuck down, what do you do next? I've never made a quilt before (as you can tell) Your detailed help is most appreciated.

When you add the backing, the edge is no longer raw. The backing seals it to stop it from fraying. If that's unattractive to you, of course you can turn your edges under and then seal on the backing. Just make sure it's ironed really well before you add the backing, so that it will lie flat. I think they don't make it an option in the instructions because people who don't sew, might not understand the concept of the turned-under edge.

well the blocks have to be sewn or else you are doing it on a whole sheet, but no , the super stick iron on backing you do not turn the edge under at all. they might not survive a lot of washing though, if you use the kind of heat n bond you sew through then you can do a close zig zag with your machine around the edges but that adds a lot of hours to the work.
