what are the advantages and disadvantages of using oil on your skin?

My cousin uses like baby oil to make her legs shiny an I was wondering if that is good for you skin because i heard that you could get really burnt in the sun
also which oil should i use on my skin

It will fry your skin, and it can also cause a lot of pimples. Better to use a nice oil-free moisturizer.
