slow-paced scrapbookers? I bought my first Creative Memories album eight years ago and still only have a few pages done. I bought some of the CM tools but I also have items from craft stores like HobbyLobby & Michael's. I am looking for a brand of genuine leather albums with pages that are easy to find in the craft stores or Wal-Mart/Target and are not overly priced. I'm thinking of getting rid of all the un-neccessary tools and junk and just doing pics with writing so that I can actually get them done. I'm eight years behind. Anyone have any suggestions?

Don't put pressure on yourself to buy into the scrapbook merchandisers' hype. It's for people who have the time and money to buy their stuff and glue it into their books. There's no art or creativity in it, only time and money. So don't feel guilty. Just get regular photo albums with pages that will be readily available when you are ready to add them, or boxes that are sized for photos so you can file them by date and just leaf through when you feel like looking at your memories.

If you get inspired to decorate a page while you're putting the photos in, then do it with items you already have. Don't feel like you have to buy things and keep up with someone else's idea of what you should do.

I think your idea of just photos and handwritten captions will be refreshingly personal. Those who come after you will appreciate your own handwriting much more than a bunch of stickers that look like everyone else's.

I really like scrap booking too, but the thing is, I'm not into the whole, get all these stickers and stuff. It's a lot nice if you just decorate it yourself. If you go to any craft stores they should have this paper things that come in packs that you can put in the back ground. They make it a lot easier to fill up space ;P
And about you getting behind eight years: That's not possible. Everyone goes at their own pace. So, if yours is a little slow... oh well :P
This is what I can tell you about the album: I don't really know about leather albums, but I use this really nice kind, called Colorbok Perfect Scrap Book. I found it at JoAnn's but you can probably find it at other places too.
Then all you need to do is get a block of paper and just stick on the pics and write the captions or whatever.
Good luck with everything!

I started out quite like you. What I found that helped me is actually getting stuff together ahead of time. For example, I bought the power sorter from creative memories but my friend uses a 2 gallon bags. put all the pics, stickers, papers even notes you want to include in them. You can spend a little bit of time doing this at home while your watching tv or something. Then when you go scrapping or do it at home you can really get alot done since there is no thinking to do just using your tools to make everything pretty.
