Anyone know how to reduce the depth of the drape in a cowl necked blouse ? It's a 2 piece sleeveless pattern by Newlook patterns, number 6470. It fits good except the cowl draping is way too low. Feel free to email with instructions.

I would like to create something similier to this:
http://www.adoptasquid.com/frank.html

I understand in general how it is made. My question mainly is focused on how I could do the parts that seem difficult. Is there anywhere I could get a pattern or other help on a project like this?

For my photo class, we have to take 10 of our best pictures and and create a story out of them and find a way to put it together. My story is a modern reinterpretation of The Notebook. Can anyone think of a really artsy, creative way to put the pictures together? Not like into a book, but something more interesting and eye-catching?

I babysit 3 girls (1,3 & 5 yrs old) and was thinking of different activities to do. I remember when I was younger I did my 'handprint' in some "cement" and gave it to my Mom, however I know it wasn't "real" cement, it was some sort of paste..possible homemade..and it looked/dried like cement. Does anyone know how to make this or where I can get it..? And what is it called...?

Thank you! :o)
~Sarah

PS any other ideas for activies would be greatly appreciated, I have a summer of FUN to look forward to with these cute little girls!! :o)

I know how to draft patterns myself but I'm feeling to lazy at the moment to do so.

Are commercial patterns any good?
I've never used one before.

Thank you

How do you attach cell phone charms to a cell phone? My phone has two holes at the top but it's covered up with the face plate I put on. Is there anywhere else I can put it where it will actually stay? Thanks!

Is it possible to just mix liquid ink (like from caligraphy pen cartridges or ink used by artists) with rubbing alcohol for a similar effect? Has anyone tried making their own alcohol inks? I love the look of them, but I don't want to pay $10 or more for three little bottles. Any suggestions?

I am making a recipe book for my 10 year old daughter. She loves to make up her own recipes and make them. I thought that I would make her a special book that she could write them in. I am making it out of paper mache, paint and stamped letters. I need to know if anyone knows how to make stamp ink from everyday household items. I only have black and blue in my kit so I want to make more. PLEASE any suggestions would be great. Also any suggestions on what else to put on the book to make it more special would be greatly appreciated also. Thank You.

I recently got a table at an arts and craft show. I design and decorate ladies shirts with paint, sequin, stones, etc. When I signed up fot the show I was asked what I would be selling and was told it could not be commercially made items. It would be something that I had to have done by hand, which meant my shirts were fine. I sell other items as well like fashion jewelry, but by no means do I make these so I did not bring them to the show. Imagine my surprise when more than 75% of the vendors were selling only commercial items, like fashion jewelry stamped made in China, figurined stamped made in China, and packaged toys. There is nothing craft about it. I recently attended another show that was the exact same way. Is this how craft shows are now? Like a flea market?

I have an old Singer 717 sewing machine and I'm having a problem with the upper thread going down and connecting with the bobbin. you know when the needle goes down and creates the little loop with the bobbin and then you pull it out and begin to sew. it just won't do it anymore!

I was sewing with it just fine then I stopped for a bit and rethreaded and that's when it started. & Yes, I have rethreaded many times after that I mean, it can't be me can it?

I have been making and selling tea party hats on eBay and through my website, www.teapartytreasures.com. I also sell tea party hat making kits for children and adults to make their own hat with all of the supplies included.

What would be the best way to market them other than what I am doing now? They are really pretty and I have rec'd good response through eBay so far, but am going broke in eBay fees. Also, need feedback on my website - take a look at www.teapartytreasures.com. Thanks!

My sister recently attended an SCA event and came back saying she wanted to get some silk to paint on. She also said she wanted to paint on Gouda, saying she wasn't talking about the cheese. Aside from the name of a type of Dutch pottery, I can't seem to find any thing called Gouda used for painting, but the way she talks it sounds like it's a type of artist canvas. Is there really a canvas by this name?
