i enjoy sewing, its a family thing...lol . i have lots of neat things i could make .. for example lap blankets...older people love em. kids who sit outside to wait for the bus love them., and they make great baby blankets too. it does not cost all that much to make them. i did the math, its do-able for me. but I need a sewing machine. the income from these projects would make getting by a little less hard for us, and it would give me something productive and satisfying to do.... would it be smart to try it out? would it be rude to ask my husband to use his tax return< he is buying EM lights from gall.com< lights will cost about 300, and siren....$?? > with his money, hes getting close to 700 bucks i think> for this investment?

I'm looking for a wire ball, about 8"/20cm diameter, to use as a pomander to put a couple of flowers in. Needs to be online or in the Wollongong/Sydney NSW area. Something similar to what I want can be seen at: http://www.pmflorist.co.uk/acatalog/Julia&matts_wedding_ball.JPG

A terrific job has landed in my lap. I will begin working for a gentleman who started building model train layouts in his spare time...and now has the opportunity to build a pretty big full time business. I will be doing everything from screwing down the initial piece of plywood to the installation of the finished product in the customers homes. I have NO experience at all but, I am am a quick learner and this man thinks I will perfect for the job. Is there anyone here that can direct me to some places (websites?) where I can learn about Train layouts in a hurry. I don't know about the different size trains or the major companies that market them at all. I have heard of Lionel but that is the only thing I know in relation to model trains. Oh, I am so lost here. Any help would be appreciated. I am feeling super inadequete. :| Thank you

I make lamp shades and one o my friends suggested making lanterns with mulberry paper, rice paper, and all those other luminate papers that asians use to decorate with, but does Mulberry and Rice paper burn? Would I have to get a flame retardant spray to put on the paper so that it wouldn't burn the paper or catch fire?

its my first year of college (so young audience) and i want to give a speech about how to make a quilt. Thing is, i need a "motivator" at the beginning of my speech, which pretty much means a way to get the audience interested. how do i get the males interested?? seeing as a lot of them have no interest in fabric and "blankets", i was thinking maybe saying that they could just appreciate how it is made and its only 3 minutes of their time... but any better ideas??

I'm looking for Remco Craft kits from 1975-1978, from old hobby stores. There were two kits I received for Christmas one year: a paper weight kit that came with the molds, luquid plastic and hardener; and I am looking for a Remco Glass Cutter Kit

I make woodblock prints, lacquer them until they are completely sealed and stamps them on canvas; however, these never get washed.

I took a stamp and stamped a t-shirt with arcylic ink (like silk screening ink) and I want to do something to it to make sure that it does not fade (as the print is already light).

i have thought about things like ironing it, scotchgaurd, etc. but i have no idea if any of these will suit my needs.

thanks in advance for your help.
