I'm new to knitting and I'm trying my hand a plain scarf. I'd like to do one row knit, one row pearl, etc, but in the past when I've done this, it has always curled up from the outside in towards the middle. Is there anything I can do to prevent this or fix the problem?

Even when I tried always knitting the first and last 5 stitches of every row, it just starts curling further in.

Hey, I spend a lot of time looking at them online and at store (well, not a lot of time) But I look at the prices and I wonder if there are any cheaper things out there.

Example: http://hawthornevillage.collectiblestoday.com/ct/store/hw/_/_prod/_17+54+565/_/_6/_/_/_Y

Yeah, I am only 14 and have enough money to buy one, but is there any cheaper sets out there? (I have $62 spending money, not money from my savings.)

i am very allergic to metal. i was told i could buy something called liquid plastic and coat certain metal items and they would be safe for me to wear i.e. jewelry. But when i put liquid plastic in a search engine i get nothing even close to what i am looking for. Has anyone heard of this, know where to get it, know of an alternative name or an alternative product that could do the same thing? Thanks in advance for your help.

P.S. Sorry if this is the wrong categopry - i couldn't find one that seemed right, and this was the closest to crafts i could think of.

I'm making a quilt for my sister (for her wedding). The front is earth-tone color and star patterned and the back has dark green fabric. I want to add my signature to it in some unique way. Any great ideas? I'm willing to put a transfer on it, but am looking for a neat one that would match the theme.

I want to purchase a new sewing machine and need one that will handle thick fabric. I sew mainly drapes and bedding for my home. I have been sewing for about 20 years and have yet to find a sewing machine that I love. I bought a Juki industrial last year only to find that it was way too fast for me. I need the ability to slow the machine down for more intricate sewing. Any suggestions would be helpful.

I'm working on this sweater pattern (picture on this link http://www.needfulyarnsinc.com/designs.php?designId=96 )

The pattern following is verbatim:

for the BACK& FRONT, you cast 50 on and Stocking stich for 14", ending with a wrong side row.

for the ARMHOLE SHAPING, you bind off 3 sts beg next 2 rows, 2 sts beg following 2 rows then 1 st beg following 2 rows. 38 sts now on needle. continue in stocking stitch until armhole measure 7"

MY QUESTION: do I do the armhole shaping on both the front and back pieces?

Please help! I'm stuck until I figure this out!!! Thanks in advance:)

I have an aerobird challenger i got for my birthday 2 years ago that i dont use very much, but recently i've been wanting to get back into it. the only down side is that if i crash it bad enough it's $150 down the drain. i like playing flying video games, but the thing is the controls on the video games use 2 sticks to control where the planes go, and the one for my plane only has one control stick.

and im not too great when it's flying towards me cause im not used to the controls being backwards....yeah

so any tips would be great.

Last year I went to Ireland and collected pub coasters from almost all of the bars we went to, I probably have about 35. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could do with them? Some of them are pretty cool and I don't want to just toss them but I'm stumped. Any ideas anyone could give would be awesome! Thanks!

Hi there =)

I made some moulds earlier for the first time. I had to mix 20 parts silicone to 1 part catalyst.
Do these measurements have to be exact as I just used what looked like half of each (they were measured when I bought them as a single use, but I didn't want to use it all in one go...).
It doesn't look like its set at all, how long does it take? Have I ruined it by not mixing it exactly? I started using a tablespoon but the stuff was too sticky.

Thanks = )
