Hi there =)

I made some moulds earlier for the first time. I had to mix 20 parts silicone to 1 part catalyst.
Do these measurements have to be exact as I just used what looked like half of each (they were measured when I bought them as a single use, but I didn't want to use it all in one go...).
It doesn't look like its set at all, how long does it take? Have I ruined it by not mixing it exactly? I started using a tablespoon but the stuff was too sticky.

Thanks = )

Why don't you say the brand name of what you're using? It could be that other people will know exactly what material you have, but it sounds like several quite different things to me. For example, it could be a two-part polyester resin since you said you were supposed to use only a little of the catalyst.
Most 2-part "silicone" molding materials as well as 2 part epoxy resins are mixed exactly half and half. Not sure about some of the epoxy clays/putties, etc.

At any rate, it does actually make a difference the proportion you use for most or all of those things... things like humidity and temperature can also affect the best proportion for resins, I know.

As for curing time, agin that depends a lot on exactly what material you're using... 2-part silicone molding materials should set up within about 20 minutes, where 2-part resins can take a full 24 hrs. or longer.

If you want to check out some info on 2-part resins, epoxy clays, and silicone molding materials, you might want to check out some of the info on these pages:

easily, once you're utilizing a silicone gasket, NO RTV is critical, yet you should ascertain the sufaces are actual sparkling. I used a small quantity of grease on the pan aspect to carry the gasket in position for installation on my LeBaron. I left the pan and gasket contained in the solar for various minutes earlier installation, which smoothed out the gasket's tendency to favor to fold lower back up the way it got here out of the field. set up all the trans bolts, leaving them loose. Then, initiate tightening them slightly at a time, each of ways around the pan. do not overtighten the bolts... Use ATF 3 or 4 on your Neon, in no way use Dexron, till you want to interchange the transmission very quickly.
