I think the nicest thing about scrapbooking is that when people, or you/family, go back and look at those photo's, the page can capture the feeling of the moment, and there is usually some journalling somewhere to remind you of exactly what's going on.
It becomes more than a photo, it's a true moment captured in time with a picture, and a feeling, and a memory all right there on a page so that whoever looks at it knows why that photo was special and worth being looked at.
Sure, scrapbooking photo's can be fun, but it's pulling it all together at the end and having that memory put down on paper forever that I love. I wish I'd started scrapbooking before I had my daughter. I would have loved to have scrapbooked and journalled all her days in the Intensive Care Nursery.

I really enjoy the process of being able to experience a moment, take a picture of it, then create a page on it. I like sharing my experiences and thoughts of something that people will be seeing and reading years down the road. It expresses creativity also. Its a good feeling knowing that the experiences won't be forgotten over time. In fifty years my grandchildren will be able to see a picture and know what I thought of it and what was happening. Scrapbooks preserve memories and share them. I can journal all about a picture. Instead of just knowing "This a picture of someone in a poodle skirt.", they will know "This is _______'s best friend _________ and she is at _____'s halloween party of 2006. She was wearing an angel costume. A funny moment that happened was ______. She really enjoyed the party and they stayed up until 2 in the morning eating candy!, etc." Knowing those special details really make the time and effort put into scrapbooks worth it!

My mom and I made a scrapbook for my Bat Mitzvah (a Jewish coming-of-age ceremony) in May, and I really enjoyed the experience! I loved picking out the pretty paper and coming up with new ideas on how to display the pictures.

I made a extensive "first 12 months" scrapbook album for the two certainly one of my youngsters. and then after that I did a chronological *kin* album for each 12 months and proceed to accomplish that. I did my 2010 album digital, yet each and all of the previous ones are hand pieced mutually. i don't in all probability have the time to do the home made ones as a lot, it is form of why I switched to digital - that is extra easy for me to do mutually as the babies are enjoying. If I convey out all my papers and gildings it makes a extensive mess and the babies get into each thing, lol. I do want the handcrafted ones, even with the shown fact that, that is purely confusing to do with 2 babies. I nevertheless have all my stuff, I do purely not drag it out close to as a lot.

It pays my mortgage!!
Also because it goes with my paper addiction. It's fun and has a practical purpose. What else are you going to do with all the photos you take - stick in a photo album? DULL!
