Right side of handle marked w a "O around an M" also a "O around RA", left side marked "O around M", right side gaurd marked "P over X", left "R",left side blade marked "WEYERSBERG over KIRSCHBAUM&Co over SOLINGEN, right side appears to have something ground off...scabbard is marked "E 7189" on frog clip side and "D w/an X" in the middle on opposite, blued steel scabbard w/ little rust and what appears to be aluminium grips on handle...blade not sharpened

It's like silk but it's thicker and heavier than silk. It's shiny when in light as well. Here is a picture of it if you can please tell me what kind of fabric this is, that would be absolutely wonderful! Thanks so much!

This may sound stupid, but im 26 and id like to get involved in something like a few times a month. Have you any tips or advice knitting with this type of yarn. I think they look lovely and colourfull but are too expensive to be experimenting with.
Has anyone any patterns? Apart from the ones on the knitty or mango moon web sites. I would like to make a scarf so any advice re: needle size, and amounts of yarn would also help. Also should it be knitted singularly or combined with another yarn for best effect.

I'm trying to make a quilt and I bought this fabric which ended up being 8"x5" squares of a design and now I just want to go onto ebay to buy pre-cut squares but i'm not sure what size squares I should buy that would look good with the other squares? P.S. I'm not a quilting queen. :)
