When will people learn. You do not clean coins. They can be damaged using coke, vinegar or any cleaner found at the grocery store. You didn't give any info on the dates or types of coins. If valuable they can be sent to a company to be professionally conserved. Coins in some plastic holders that have PVC in them get this green slim on them. If it has not been there to long, a soft cloth can be used to get it off, Copper coins are harder to clean than silver. If it is green hard and crusty, a soak in olive oil for a long time may help. Use these sugestions only if the coins are not real valuable.
