You can set-up an aquarium and place all gemstones into the treasure chest. By using spot light you can achieve truly unique and mystical effect of the pirate shipwreck.
Example of treasure chest:

What about creating a wall piece, something like a shadow box idea. You can add your gemstones in there, random or in a shape (I fancy the shape of a tree with no leaves, in all of your gems, no set pattern just free-handed). That way you have your stones displayed, and you can re-arrange them if you like.

If you want to make an object, you'll probably still want to set the stones to protect them and attach them to whatever. However, you don't have to make jewelry. You could attach the settings (or have it done) and make a bowl, or decorative wall hanging. You could also make small decorative creaturs, and use the stone for eyes. Be creative!

I find that the clear plastic magnifying boxes made for insect collectors and the clear plastic tackle holding boxes for fishermen you can find in hobby and craft stores make fine holders for gem and mineral collections. The magnifying boxes are great for small stones and the tackle boxes can usually have their section sizes adjusted for bigger stones. Storing them in clear plastic boxes like these allows you to display them out in the open, like on window sills in the sunlight, without the stones getting dusty.

A shadow box would look cool and you could add other elements as well or you could sew some of them onto your favorite pair of jeans, skirt, top, or hand bag that way they'd always be on display. Good luck

attach them to a picture frame or a box. or fill up a clear vase with them. use them to adorn pillows or curtains, or lamp shades. or just place them all into a clear bowl to display on a shelf somewhere. use them to make ornaments for christmas.

freeze them in ice cubes to put into your good friends drinks...make sure of course they are aware of it so no one chokes....of course u do not want to use ALL...just for your good friends (if you can part with them!)
...you could also lay them in the bottom of an aquarium........
or...get a bubbler lamp...and put them in it so the will bubble around and sparkle...good luck!
