My husband and I were planning a clam bake, but we had a family emergency and had to cancel.

The clams were purchased (little-necks) have been sitting in the fridge for a little over a week and half in a bucket of ice water.

I'd really hate to throw them out. All the clams are still closed tightly and smell fine.

I steamed a few to see if they would open and they opened completely after about 5-6 minutes.

Are these clams safe to eat?

I'm craving chocolate milk, but I don't want to go to the store for the mix to make it. Is there anyway to make it out of baking cocoa and maybe sugar or something?

I was eating a can of spaghetti and meatballs. Halfway through my meal i saw the bug and felt grossed out. I called the company and they want me to save the bug in a ziploc bag, keep it in the refrigerator until they send me a pre-paid envelope. then i am to send the bug to them so they can examine it. Then they would get in touch with me. Is there anything else that I can do? I am pregnant and wonder if I should take more action. If so what should I do?

I still have the treat size boxes left from Halloween and was wondering if they are still good? We bought them on Oct. 31st and they are in little individual boxes.

The food that you just couldn't bring yourself to eat. For me any kind of fish and salad fit that bill.

I lead a middle school small group and the ministry just collected nearly 8000 lbs of nonperishables ( canned goods mainly ) is there any way to figure out how many people this will feed (some sort of calculated estimate)? I would love to say, "because of our work we helped feed over X amount of people."

thanks!

Lately my boyfriend and I are working crazy shifts at work. We get home at 11 at night and are hungry for something. I found that we have been eating a lot of frozen entrees which is something that we have not done much in the past. Our choice is Stouffers. They are really really good. If you haven't tried the Barbaque chicken tenderloins with cheesy potatoes you must. I am not saying I would choose these over a nice homemade meal, but they are very convienient. I have tried other brands and have been extremely dissatisfied.

... method do you use to brew it?

I pretty much have to have fresh-ground, so I buy whole beans at the supermarket, but I use a 12-cup drip coffee maker... I know it is not the best method, but we need volume! Have a cup on me!

By the way, I do have a French press coffee maker, and the little stove-top one... but I forget what it's called...
