It's a ripe coconut, not young and not in the husk.

I tapped the equator with a heavy knife, I hit the equator on the edge of a brick wall, none of this worked. I finally gave up on getting two some what symmetrical sides, wrapped it in a towel and hit it with a hammer.

I know how to break it into PIECES but everything I looked up doesn't work and I'm afraid of saws.

I have had food poisoning in the past and although it was from eating in restaurants I am really concerned about not EVER going through that again. Any suggestions on how to keep my kitchen safe from food poisoning?
Also, what are some good tips on recognizing if a restaurant may have contaminated food?
I got food poisoning from a salad bar that had tainted dressing on it. Although I was a child when it happened, I remember telling my parents that the dressing tasted bad and was very warm. I nearly died from dehydration when that happened and have always carried it with me. I hate to try new foods, and rarely eat out anymore. It is a real problem for me.....help!

I've searched online and googled stuff but i cant seem to find japanese candy near where i live. I actually live in Rocklin, CA but I dont think there is any asian stores. Also i really want to try melonbread and other snacks but the only way ive found so far to get some is off the internet. I'm going to Bakersfield this weekend so I would also like to see if anyone knows about asian stores there too. I dont really want sites for online buying because ive already found a lot but i'm not going to buy online untill im desperate.

I am putting a California gift basket together for some friends who are moving interstate.
I want it to be some fun Californian themed items for them, nothing too serious.
So far all I have thought of is CA Raisins (the Sunmaid ones), and Ghiradelli chocolate...

Any ideas?

I'm drinking a lovely chai tea (for any of you who go to Starbucks, I'm drinking one of their chai tea lattes) right now and I was thinking...are there any heath benefits I could get from chai? Do they have antioxidants (spelling?) like green tea does? I'm just curious. For anyone who has the facts, please tell! Thanks!

This has been bugging me for ages... I remember eating Lucky Charms alot as a kid, but realised that they never sell it in the UK anymore. Why is it that they don't sell it here anymore? I know they still sell them in other countries, it's an outrage!? Did they perhaps not sell as well as they thought?!

Lucky Charms are the bees knees!
