ok i have ALWAYS wondered about this.

i love eggplant.

once when i was little a well meaning aunt of mine told me that eggplant is not part of a macrobiotic diet and that it can throw your balance off and make you feel bad and it is basically bad for your health. this is because it is supposed to be toxic or something.

this really has ruined it for me every time i eat eggplant. i think about how it is bad for me.

has anyone heard of this eggplant macrobiotic thing?

is eggplant really bad for you?

I was thinking of cooking steak tonight, I forgot to thaw the meat last night. Dinner is less than 2hrs, and I just thought about using the microwave (defrost) to thaw the meat.
Is there difference in taste? Personally I don't like using the microwave when it comes to cooking. Just doesn't taste the same...(just my opinion). But since it's just defrosting the meat should I go ahead and throw the meat in cold water, or defrost it ? Thank you very much.

Is there any valid reason to avoid tap water? Do you drink tap water yourself?

I've heard it's good for you as it builds your system against bacteria found in hard water - the stuff from the tap. Is this true?

The plant in California that has been making Hershey Bars in CA since 1965(and to "remain competitive", which really means the top stockholders need to stuff much more cash into their mouths, wink-wink) is moving of all places...to MEXICO.

Have you ever driven a car that was Made in Mexico versus the same exact model the was Made in Germany...like night and day!

Now just imagine...No FDA in Mexico, and people who really care about what their doing...RIGHT...

A&W, Tom's hamburgers, Foster Freeze, and Timmy"s joint all seem to have one thing in common with their old fashioned hamburgers. And I have tried everything to replicate this. If anybody has worked at any of these burger joints or just knows how to do it, please let me in on the secret!

I love good ol' Krispy Kreme's- glazed or jelly-filled! My sisters used to take me there when I was a kid and I insisted on a plain glazed donut with a hole. They tried to give me a jelly filled and I refused...because it didn't have a hole!!
