When I was little, and it was a really hot summer day, we would cut cantaloupes in half, fill the halves with vanilla ice cream, and sit on the porch and eat this cool, refreshing treat.
My husband prefers cottage cheese in his cantaloupe. That has become a summer breakfast for us when it is too hot to cook and we want something simple.
I'll never forget my first real tea party. My aunt fixed what I thought was the fanciest salad ever. On a lettuce leaf, she placed a slice of pineapple, then she put a scoop of cottage cheese on that, a sprinkling of grated cheddar cheese, a dollop of mayo (the real thing), and then a marachino cherry. To this day, that is such a treat, Very elegant and sooooooo good!

Try mixing some Maple Syrup into Cottage Cheese. It's quite good.
I also like this mixture: Jell-O straight from the package (Orange, sugar free), Some light Cool Whip topping and some Mandarin Oranges. It's a pretty low-cal and cool dessert.

Cottage cheese can be used in manny ways. It is great as part of the cheese and sauce in lasagna. As a salad you can add vegetables or fruit. My wife likes cottage cheese with dice tomatoes, green pepper and onion. As a dessert add cool whip , dry jello and pineapple(crushed) and mix well and chill. This is great for a hot day dessert.

Cottage Cheese is delicious with scrambled eggs, salt and pepper and a tiny dash of tabasco or hot sauce.

cut a cantelope melon in half, scoop out the seeds, and put a few scoops of cottage cheese in the hole. I ate this almost every day for lunch a few summers ago. It is so good!

Pineapple, applesauce, apricots, mixed fruit....basically any fruit in cans or fresh strawberries or blueberries.
The weirdest thing I have ever tried is to blend it and then freeze and thaw to resemble ricotta when I couldn't find any to make lasagna. With a lot of mozzarella and parmesan, sauce, meat and other ingredients it was hard to tell.

Mom just said salt and pepper is all you need. So that's my thing to this day, never fruit.
