So my dog licked my lunch meat(that was on the table) today, and I hate to throw it away because it was $10 worth. I rinsed it off, but should I still throw it away?

i know bread can become mouldy fast, but how many days can you keep it roughly for, after the best before date? the store 'sell by' or 'display until' is usually labelled as 2 or 3 days before the 'best before' on any loaf of bread. i am wondering how long you can keep bread for even after this, if the bread still tastes fine with no obvious mould/bacteria growth? its a 'best before' date found labelled on all bread, and not a 'use by' date, found on more perishable potentially more dsangerous products such as meat and dairy

im sure eating foods long after the best before date could prob give you a dodgy stomach, but nothing on the level of anything eaten after a use by date...

can i keep bread up to around a week after the best before? should i only discard it when it tastes odd and/or visibly starts to gain a mind of its own? thanks for any info, bread experts! :D

I've been asked to design a menu for a local restaurant and I need to know what to charge. I've thought about letting him pay in gift certificates since he's just starting out, but again, how much is fair? I figure it will take me about 5 hours to complete with occational updates.

Thanks!

Well do you like eating oysters? How do you normally eat it?

I love my raw and fresh, with a squeeze of fresh lemon. If they are cold on ice, it's even better. Oooo.......food heaven!

that they should clean as they are cooking? I'm not talkinabout doing dishes as they clean (personally, I do but that's just me), I'm talking if you spill some flour, wipe it up or if you are making something greasy and it spits on the stove to wipe it up. It drives me nuts when people are so sloppy (at least in MY kitchen, I could care less what people do in their homes because that is their perogative).
If you made a mess while cooking, would you clean up after yourself?

Any suggestions? If it matters, I am dealing with hard water, very mineral-y, and buying ice, purified water, or an ice maker, is not going to happen.

The problem is that my ice shatters and sticks in the tray. I have even cracked a couple trays. I have found this happens more when I freeze on top of ice shards that stuck in the bottom, so I have started with room temperature trays of water. Aside from that, I have no ideas.

My trays are a mishmash collection, a couple old ones that came with a refrigerator, and a few from different dollar stores. Do ice trays have a lifespan? Do they develop a residue that makes them not work anymore?

I have a smoothie almost everyday and I cannot seem to find a blender that will chop up all my ice, I am always left with large chunks. I just want my smoothies to be... you know... smooth.

I'd choose Paula Dean and her fried chicken! YUM! I'm in the south so she wouldn't have to travel far!

If you don't know what savory is, it's like meat, or not sugary. It's like an entree. I like savory, mostly.
