ASPARTAME: It’s the world’s best ant poison

Those nice people who produce aspartame, the sweetener in diet drinks, have taken quite a hammering of late. So it's great to be able to report on a practical application of the sweetener that puts it in a more positive light.

According to Jan Jenson of Mooresville, North Carolina, it's the world's greatest ant poison. "It works better than the most deadly poisons I have tried. Any time those ants show up again, I simply dump another package of NutraSweet in a corner, and they will be gone for a year or so again," she reports.

She made the discovery after carpenter ants, which were resistant to even the deadliest ant poisons such as Orkin, plagued her home. At her wit's end, she remembered reading that aspartame had first been developed as an ant poison until the manufacturer discovered its more lucrative role as a sweetener. She bought two packets of NutraSweet, put one in a corner of her two bathrooms, and she didn't see another ant for nearly a year.

As with any poison, Jan recommends that you wear gloves and wash your skin afterwards should you come into direct contact with the poison. Of course, you must avoid swallowing it (oh, yes, of course, you are supposed to swallow it).

Surely having a normal tin and using a standard tin opener would save thousands of pounds for the NHS each year. Or even just stop producing it as it is minging

I just don't trust them. What makes them so special? Whenever I shop for food, I avoid the organic stuff, thinking it's gonna mess my body up.

where i work the other employees don't clean. they leave food sitting out all night and serve it the next day. they have clogged up drains that have filthy water sitting in them. i have reported things that need to be fixed and have not for months. i have told manager about these things but recieve no comment back. the employees are not properly trained and these are serious health dep't violations that they know about, and continue to do. should i call the health dep't? the things the health dep't will see are all behind the scenes though, and they will know i called.

Will there be smuggled boxes of fries and mcnuggets coming in?

The police arrest you and give you a cholesterol test.

Will it give rise to mob bosses like; Al Cazone, Joey the deep frier, Pauly the cook, and The Crisco Kid.

I just read on Burger King's box that Thomas Jefferson introduced vanilla beans to America. Why did I go to school when all I had to do was eat Burger King all the time. I could earn a bachelor's just by eating french fries.

We're divided here. Bacon in a burger, definately good, no question (please, no bacon-related posts here). But Egg? I think it is - bacon and egg together, definately a good combo even in a burger. But the yolk should be hard in a burger, not runny like in a fried egg sandwich. Your thoughts, community?
