I want to treat my housemate (who grew up in Qatar) to a good Arabic dinner - she's been away from the Middle East for a year now and is craving Arabic food. What's a good simple menu for me to try out? Also recipes and web sites?

(She can't cook! I normally cook Indian food for her, as he family is Indian. We're in The Philippines at the moment - so some ingredients maybe hard to find)

I'm looking for a recipe for making chewy taco shells at home - they are nothing like the ones in the stores. We have two restaurants ran by hispanic people here that serve them in Muskegon, MI, and they are soooo good. I've not been able to get anyone at either restaurant to divulge the recipe.

The shells are made of corn, slightly fried, and have small perforations in them, most likely to keep them from blistering when being prepared.

They contain the same contents as any regular hard or soft shell taco would, they are just in between the two in texture - chewy.

I am for the first time growing a purple variety of Tomatillo. As they are not usually available in the UK, and I understand they are used extensively in Mexican cooking, I would be grateful for any advice as to the best stage at which to harvest them, and any recipes to enjoy them, as I have never tried them before.

These cookies are delicious, and are mentioned in not only the Bible and the Qu'uran, but feature in several pagan religions' "scriptures" too. Is this just a coincidence, or is there realy something holy about a fig wrapped in biscuit?

Yeah, I'm going to Ottawa (ON) and I was wondering if anyone could point me to some authentic Chinese restaurants (not the sweet and sour chicken or buffet type)
Also, could you tell me exactly where on Somerset St Chinatown is?
I'll give you best answer if you actually answer my question, I swear.
Thanks! =)
