ok so me and a few friends are having this argument about smirnoff and budlight/budweiser. there all 5% beer which in my mind means if i drink 12 smirnoffs and get drunk it will take 12 buds to get me drunk.

my friend says that smirnoff is ***** beer and it takes way more to get you drunk.

if you have the same ammount of food in your stomach, and you drink them at the same pace...do they get you drunk at the same speed?

While cleaning my basement I came across a plastic bin with bottles never opened of alcohol. I used to have a friend whose father owned a bar, when he passed away she have me a few of the old figurines full of the alcohol and she sold the rest at that time. I do not think it is legal to sell alcohol but I hate to open them an ruin their sealed labels. Also I doubt any of it is drinkable.

...and almost threw up! I thought they both tasted (and smelled) awful!! I'm sure it is an aquired taste, but is there a way to ease into it? Is there a better tasting wine I can start with?

I just turned 21, and I want to buy a bottle of red wine and of white wine, and save it until I'm retired or for 25th wedding anniversary or something special along the road.

Any suggestions? I'm not a fan of red wine, but I'm open to the possibility that I'll acquire a taste for it in the next 20 years... =)

Would like to start with a wine to have with spouse for an evening. Not necessarily to have with a certain dinner. Parents had Riunite in fridge constantly, is this fair or are others better tasting. I Reside in Dallas area, not California or Italy lol....tks

Hi, anyone have an unusual cure for hangovers? The best for me is a pint of cold water, squeeze a whole lemon into it and add lots of ice.

I live and work in Kuwait where booze is banned, nay, outlawed! I know people brew their own beer and 'siddiqui' (basic spirit) and wine. As we only have access to grape juice (that you buy in bottles at the mall), basic yeast and sugar, I have still to come across a really great method of making your own wine.

Suggestions please .....

Is Baileys Irish Cream made of real cream? Do I need to refrigerate it? How soon after opening should I discard? If I do not finish a bottle, will it go bad like a cream product?

I read in a seemingly scholarly article somewhere that it's "not unusual" for alcoholics to consume as much as 200 grams of alcohol a day (20 shots!) on average. Is this true? How much does a typical alcoholic actually consume on daily or weekly basis?

Special Note: I'm not talking about people who simply abuse alcohol (drink +3 drinks a day on average), I'm talking about people who are actually dependent and have little or no control over how much they drink. And no, I'm not asking this question to screen myself for alcoholism...

I'm an insomniac and I've found that this is the only thing that relaxes me enough to sleep without getting hung-over the next day. I only have ONE drink, but it's a stiff one. Can anyone recommend something that isn't high in calories (I'm not a beer drinker) as I don't wish to put on any additional weight this way.

I want to send a gift to a friend of Lavagulin Scotch. He lives in Wisconsin - we're both over 21...over 40, actually. Please recommend a reputable site. Thanks!

There's about 0.5% alcohol in it by volume...

Could I be arrested for drinking it while driving?

I am curious if I drink too much or not. I can drink like 4-5 whiskey drinks before I even feel like I've drank anything. My friend gets wasted after one drink!

When you purchase a bottle of wine at a restaurant, then the waiter asks you to try it, what happens if you absolutely cannot bear the taste.
Do you have to pay for it? Does it get used behind the bar, in the kitchen. What happens to it?
I've never actually refused a bottle, but I've always wondered.
