I have just bottled a batch of Ausie Restricted Quantity Shiraz that has been fermenting at my local Ontario Winery for 6 weeks. I am unsure as to how long to keep it to enjoy at its best. I will store in my cellar (circa 16 deg), bottles are corked and sealed and will be kept horizontally. Thanks

Hi everyone, so I am trying to name a bar that is on the corner of 6th Ave and K Street. I need to use themes that go with the rest of the property where the bar is. We have a rooftop bar named Altitude, being that the bar is on the ground floor I am trying to go with sort of the opposite of Altitude. Its street number is 660. Thanks for your help, and if I choose what you suggest, I will for sure let you know!

I tried to calibrate the hydrometer against water to test this theory and it read just slightly below 0.98. (probably at 0.97 level)

I cannot think why this might be occurring, other than I am using a fluted pint glass which is wider at the top and narrow at the bottom.

First of all am I right to think water should read 1.00. If I am right, then what in tap water would cause it to read 0.97? Should I just assume the hydrometer is .03 in error and add .03 to all readings?

Budweiser is the worst beer on Earth. Have these folks never had a real beer? Explain this insanity to me. I drink beers like Newcastle, Arrogant Bastard, Guiness, Blue Moon, Oatmeal Stouts. These beers have so much depth and complexity, hell, drink Miller High LIfe before Bud. Am I a beer bigot?

I'd like to host a wine & cheese party and have each guest bring at least one bottle of wine, without sounding to cheap (as there will be approx 25 people). I do not know what to write in the invitation, can you help please.

I'll be serving the cheese, fruit, fish, bread, ect...

By the way, I liked the idea of the "brown bag wine bash" http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060907072512AAB3BEk

I love rich, full bodied, dry red wines. I have sampled some great ones on my own good judgement/luck, but I'm interested in some reccomendations from everyone else. Please also describe the wine in a few words to me so I can get a picture of it's character. I'm having some good friends over this weekend and we are roasting a side of goat, making kebab, dolmades, and there will be some curried dishes like cous cous and cucumber salad. Looking for something that can pair well with these kinds of foods.
