You will LOVE St. Julian's Blue Heron or Red Heron. They are both award winning wines under $10. They are both sweet and they are both excellent with a spritz of soda. You will absolutely LOVE St. Julian's wines. I have also explored other wines, but for sweetness and fruity flavor, yes, these are the ones to try. Try it before you pick best answer.

A nice sweet white wine I enjoy from time to time is Liebfraumilch. I have never seen a bottle of any brand of this type of wine that was more than $20. If you get one that is between $7 to $15 it should be fine.

I love Troon Vineyard wines in Oregon!

Sweet White: White Cabernet "Jeanie in the Bottle", $12.
Sweet Red: Red Blend "Druid's Fluid", $20.

You can get them online at www.troonvineyard.com

Sorry, don't mean to offend, but one usually associates "sweet" with white and not with red wine especially as a dessert wine. If you really do want a sweet red wine as a dessert wine and not a table wine than serve a good Ruby Port -- they also come in a sweet variety!

White, did you ever try Rhine or Riesling? Red, Mogan David. Coming from an Italian family Mogan David reminds me of Lambrusco, or as we call it "Daggo Red." They are all inexpensive.

For a white try Reislings, Leibfraumilch or soem Pinot Grigio's.

Red check your wine store for various berry wines ( they tend to be really sweet) or ask for a dessert wine.

I'm not sure how to speel it, I think it is Swartzeller Katz. It is a German white wine. Not too expensive, but very tasty.
