sauternes (white bordeaux): many "brands" (the best-known are Yquem, Filhot, Rieussec but are a bit expensive...)
You have "white moelleux" that don't taste as "sweet" as a Sauternes, but style are softer than dry white wines.
Then, you can try a Rhine (german wine) or a Eiswein.

Dessert wines will be sweet, port, sherry, ice wines, Sauternes, late harvest wines etc. These will be really sweet, if you are looking for something that is more drinkable try looking for wines that are more fruity, if a wine tastes really fruity you won't taste the tartness as much. Rieslings have been mentioned, that's a good choice. Even better try Beaujolais Nouveau, it's very fresh, fruity wine from the current years harvest. It's not overly sweet but even non-wine drinkers generally like it because it is very light, fresh and fruity. It's released on the third Thursday in November.

Reisling as stated above is a really sweet white dessert wine. Port is a rich, full, sweet red wine, drank in small quantities after dinner. Also, iced wine, though hard to find and expensive, is EXTREMELY sweet... and tasty. Any blush wines tend to be sweet, too.
