I'd like to host a wine & cheese party and have each guest bring at least one bottle of wine, without sounding to cheap (as there will be approx 25 people). I do not know what to write in the invitation, can you help please.

I'll be serving the cheese, fruit, fish, bread, ect...

By the way, I liked the idea of the "brown bag wine bash" http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060907072512AAB3BEk

Hm, how about:
"You are invited to share your wine knowledge with us on (insert Date, etc). Please bring a bottle of wine that you would like to share with other oenophiles. All pairings can be explored, as appropriate cheeses and such shall be provided"

Words to that effect?
it sounds like fun!

One bottle ("at least") each is a lot of wine! Better that you yourself supply 3-5 bottles and 3-5 varieties of cheese, fruit, fish, bread, (charcuterie, also???) and ask 1/2 the invitees to bring a bottle and the other half to bring a cheese or a food. Put a price limit - say 10 dollars (or 6 pounds UK, 13 dollars CDN, etc. equivalent) per bottle for the wines, and ask for imagination, "something different or unique" from those contributing foods.

Could say something like you are having a wine tasting and ask everyone to bring their favorite wine. Tell them on the invite that the food will be provided. If anyone gets offended, you won't want them there anyway. Be sure to have your own bottle of wine there or your guests might think you used them for the booze!

I'd say that it's a wine and cheese party. Bring your favorite bottle of wine for tastings. I provide this that and the other thing for food. And share the knowledge about your favorite wine!
Make it sound casual and have people think that they are the ones informing others about good wines.
