No, you are NOT a beer bigot. BL tastes like crap but it's not the worst beer on earth. That honor goes to Rasputin Stout, a Russian-based vodka beer (the most vile stuff ever made by a human; tastes like beer mixed with Robitussin)
Miller (or was it Michelob) tastes pretty good but my favorite beers come from Mexico and Europe. Most domestic brews have a water-down flavor. Sam Adams is the exception; great tasting brew and their Oktoberfest special is awesome.
Call me narrow-minded but I have a thing for European brews since they came up with the idea long before America became a nation. Newcastle is pretty good. Haven't had the Arrogant Bast. stuff. Guiness, believe it or not, has some weird aftertaste.
Beck's Oktoberfest is my personal beer of choice even though it's made one month out of the year.
Or maybe it's because I choose to honor my German/Irish heritage ;)

Well you are sort of an Arrogrant Bastard, and there are worse beers on earth than Bud -- Bud Light and Coors Light, Tennant's Lager, Yuengling Premium (not the amber) come to mind. However, I hardly ever drink Bud and would never order it a bar. People like it cause it's cheap and consistant, and also I think there is a "I'm part of a crowd" feeling to it and also a lot of people in the USA don't seem to like a lot of flavor in flavor in their beer or food. I like Modello Especial, Anchor Steam, Pilsner Urquel, Beck's, Newcastle, lot's of Micros -- but lately I've had to cut back on the $ and I have been drinking Schlitz which I recently rediscovered in the supermarket for only $3.25 and was surprized that in had a nice flavor. I'll also drink PBR. I won't drink Corona -- basically I won't drink whatever is most popular cause I like to be different whereas most people like to be the same as everybody else.
PS I really don't like Sam Adams either the taste or the aftertaste (burnt wood) I wouldn't call any beer the best in the world unless I had tried them all, and I am not about to attempt that.

Budwesier - $10.99 for an 18-pack
Beer you like: $8.99 or more for a 6-pack
At least that's what it is in my neighborhood. I like to get a buzz on, and I'm poor. I can't afford to get a buzz on with the good beer, so I drink Bud. I do agree that the more expensive brews have more depth and complexity and taste better, but I'm cheap.
When I can afford it, I spend my money on good beer when I'm at a bar and it's on draft, which is so much better than getting it in a bottle anyway.
And by the way, you're not a beer bigot, you're a beer snob.

I agree with you on the first beers you list. But when at a football or baseball game, they are not readily available (at least in the stadium). Budweiser sells more beer than the other American brands and therefore, is generally fresher.
I wouldn't call you a beer bigot. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and should drink what they like.

Careful...there are lots of Americans who will think you're a beer snob. Look, I'm right there with you on your beer choices and I think most American beer tastes like p!$$ water, but people are going to like what they're going to like and if you get someone who has been drinking Bud for years, he's probably not going to try something new and he'll probably get VERY offended if you criticize his taste (or lack thereof)...

Budweiser is mass marketed very well and is cheap. They often are the ones who're contracted to sell beers at sporting events. But yeah, they're pretty mediocre as far as beer goes.

I drink Bud all the time and it is my everyday standard. not because I don't enjoy all the other beers in te eworld but BUD is always consistent and available at a reasonable cost as opposed to expensive other beers.
