In the U.S. we drink it cold (and I love it!). In Ireland, I understand you drink it room temperature. Is it more flavorful at room temperature?

I was at a party and they served a drink they called an Apple Martini, but it had rum in it. I believe she said it had apple rum, apple pucker and cran-apple juice in it. Is this a twist on the original drink or does this drink actually have a different name to it?

I've tried several kinds, but I CANNOT bring myself to take more than 5 sips. I get more and more nauseous with each sip. Dry or sweet, it is ALWAYS extremely bitter and disgusting. Who wants to drink something that tastes like nail polish remover? I just don't get it. Yeah, it's a good thing because it lessens my chances of becoming an alcoholic, but REALLY, how can people drink that stuff?

I'm trying to find I beer that I will actually like. I tried Corona, and can't drink it. It's too bitter, and I think that any beer that needs a lime shouldn't be consumed anyway. Then I tried Kokanee Gold, and amber lager. I liked it a lot more than Corona, mainly because it didn't have much of an aftertaste.

What do I have a good chance of liking? I think I like sweeter beers, and I'm thinking of giving Heineken or Becks a try next. Any other suggestions? I'm not really interested in the macros that get crappy ratings, like Molson, Labatt, Budweiser, Coors, etc.

Drugs and alcohol can inflame symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Even while many claim that drugs relieve them of the symptoms.

suppose that drugs are elevating symptoms and spoiling your mind at the same time. If someone who smokes pot all the time and if they were to stop, then perhaps their mind will be impeded to be able to deal with stress and anxiety of life, compared to one who has never done any drugs.

My boyfriend (head barman in a traditional-style pub) has recently got a whole load of aggro from his boss for something he did which I felt was commendable.

My BF rang the police to report that a guy who was pretty rat-arsed was heading outside, car keys in hand, to drive home. The guy had been in the pub all night and was bladdered. My BF heard him arranging to give his friends lifts home and saw him go outside and get into his car. So he rang the police and gave them the car registration number and told them this guy was drunk. The police were able to stop the guy, and arrest him before he killed anyone.

My BF's boss went mad when he found out when my BF had done and said it "looked bad" on the pub and might "breed resentment" among the customers. He gave him a real bollocking.

I think all bar staff should be required to report drunk drivers as they leave the premises. What do you think?

Most of them have absolutely NOTHING to do with the beer at all. Take shampoo adverts for example: "Makes your hair shine and makes it smooth" - trying to sell you the shampoo, but beer adverts are just long, boring things that don't mention the beer until the very end. Even mobile phone adverts manage to get in "the phone has a camera, built-in microwave and MP3 player", but the beer adverts are just a waste of time. Same goes for the perfume adverts - they're just someone walking about in a strange place before the perfume bottle comes up.

Why are the adverts so stupid and annoying?

Not Real Ale brewing company. Real ale, like CAMRA (CAMpaign for Real Ale). Naturally carbonated, cellar temperature ale. Think England.
