i do. it's $5 for a pint. the cheapest whiskey you can buy here. cheaper than a six pack and you get way more drunk. It doesn't seem like there's much of a diff between cheap and more expensive whiskey like seagram's 7 or somethin.

I'm having a wine and cheese reception on Friday and want to get others' perspectives and tastes - I know what I like but I'd like to get outside of my "comfort zone". What wines and cheeses do you like together? If you were going to answer Franzia boxed Rose and Velveeta, please just move along - that's just plain wrong. ;)

Not something for a special occasion or a holiday, but for regular, everyday drinking.

Follow up: Do you pay that price, whatever it is, because you feel
a) A lower price does not provide the quality you want
b) A higher price provides no additional quality beyond what you want
c) You are looking for the most value you can get
d) You are looking for the "ultimate" wine experience and are willing to pay for it (you define ultimate for yourself)

Ok, so, five of my friends are going to have a combined birthday party. I figured I might as well bring some alcohol to the party but I have no idea what to bring! HELP! What are some good "birthday" drinks? (alcoholic, that is...) Mention the brand too!

I have a friend that drinks...She has kids, a husband....etc....anyway.. It is odd to me the way she drinks....it's almost daily. I call her to ask her out and she says no, can't meet you, I've been drinking...so I can catch her on a non-drinking day, once in a while...

What gets me is she drinks heavily, but keeps an immaculate house, yard, she even routinely checks oil in her cars. She won't drive if drinking. She cleans while drinking....I asked her once if she was concerned about how much she drank and she said no, not really....

This is where I'm at a loss. The girl can drink 18 beers and clean and never slur a word, she won't drive though, but she'll wake up at 6am no problem...

What's the deal??? Know anyone like this? (This is a 5 year long thing I've been wondering....5 years I don't know if I should call her an alchy or a freak...or whatever....)
