It's not "produced"...when they bottle Maker's Mark, they really do dip the bottle in the "wax" so each one is really dipped, and really one of a kind.

actually they do it at the makers mark distillery. if you go on a tour there, they give you a bottle and let you dip it yourself, so that it is more personalized.
