Shiner Bock was MUCH better back in the late 80's when the Spoetzl family still ran the brewery. The new owners jacked with the recipe and gave you the brown water you are drinking now. Want a good Texas made beer, try any of the Saint Arnold's products.

Mine is Newcastle Brown Ale and I live in England. I have tried Shiner Bock when in the U.S.A. and it was almost the same. The best seller here is Budweiser.

Guinness extra stout (in a bottle, not a can) is VG. So is Fat Tire. Both are available in Texas. As for seasonal brews, Smuttynose brewery in New England makes an absolutely awsome pumpkin ale in October - November.

I love Snake River Brewing Co.'s Zonker Stout. But, I would push someone aside for the last Murphy's. I'm a fan of dark beers.
