Drugs and alcohol can inflame symptoms of anxiety and depression.
Even while many claim that drugs relieve them of the symptoms.

suppose that drugs are elevating symptoms and spoiling your mind at the same time. If someone who smokes pot all the time and if they were to stop, then perhaps their mind will be impeded to be able to deal with stress and anxiety of life, compared to one who has never done any drugs.

Perhaps people who take prescription drugs for their anxiety or OCD or whatever also become dependent on these drugs. When they stop, perhaps they also have brains that are not as able to deal with stress and anxiety of life compared with those who never took those prescription drugs.

The fact of the matter is, if you use a drug to control a disorder, legal or not, you will become dependent on that drug. If, like most people who use marijuana, you smoke occasionally at a party or with friends and have no underlying disease, there's really not a problem.

Beside that, it is a fact that after 30 days of not smoking weed, people's bodies and brains are returned to the state they were in before they ever took a toke. Can antidepressant or antianxiety manufacturers make the same claim? (Of course, weed is bad for your lungs too, but you didn't bring that up, so I won't try to defend that aspect of the drug.)

theobromo77, I dont know what the hell you smoked but I have never heard of anyone feeling or acting that way after smoking. FREAKIN WEIRDO! PENK! HA HA...Anyways, Bones Im with you, I am a everyday smoker, and when I dont smoke for a day or a few days I dont see any symptoms either. So I guess it all depends on the persons body and how they may react to the drug.

In your case pot would be a bad thing, stop using it. For thousands of others it helps and they should be allowed to use it.
I have been a smoker off and on for many years...21 to be precise. I have stopped for years at a time and noticed no adverse symptoms. Then again I don't use it as medicine, I use it as a safe alternative to alcohol.

A day?! Try a few minutes! I'll never do that again! All I could think of was making sure my body parts didn't touch, alternately trying not to bite off my tongue and not swallow it, repeatedly thinking the same thing so it would all go away, being afraid that if I didn't do the right thing bad things would happen..... bad trip, huh.
For some people it is great, perfect, fun...but not for me.

I never liked weed, it made me feel dumb, literally dumb, speechless, not stupid, just unable to talk properly. I do think they make a nice house plant though, especially when dwarfed and handled like Japanese Bon sai plants.
