I've tried several kinds, but I CANNOT bring myself to take more than 5 sips. I get more and more nauseous with each sip. Dry or sweet, it is ALWAYS extremely bitter and disgusting. Who wants to drink something that tastes like nail polish remover? I just don't get it. Yeah, it's a good thing because it lessens my chances of becoming an alcoholic, but REALLY, how can people drink that stuff?

My dad is a wine collector-- and I feel the same way about wine as you.
There was a birthday a couple of years ago that he pulled out a bottle for -- he had been saving it for like 10 years. I really liked that glass--- the only wine I have EVER liked.
Then he sprung it on me that that bottle of wine was worth about $900!! So I found I do like wine, but only if it is SUPER expensive! LOL

I dont drink alcohol -ever- on my own. I only will if it's at someone else's house for a special dinner, by invitation, so as not to be rude to the hostess. And still it will not be an entire shot glass- just the smallest amount. I dont see the interest in alcohol, and beer is especially repulsive.
The only alcoholic beverage I have tried (and I have only tried maybe 4) and can call 'tasteful' is Cointreau. That is a lemony sweet, thick, candy-like flavor. But it BURNS in the throat and stomach even if you only have one sip. So I have only had a small taste, and none since then.....

Every person's palate is different so some people really like wine. Personally, I'm the same way with beer - can't stand the stuff. If I'm drinking, it's a glass of white wine for me but some people would just as soon have a pint of beer.

I'm not really a wine lover either, but I would drink sweet red wine. I just love the sweet taste of it! If not really a fan of the dry tipes, it takes me sometimes the whole night just to drink the whole glass then... But yeah, I'd prefer vodka before wine...

Wine is something that one has to develop a taste for and that may take time, years perhaps. However, don't give up hope as there is much to appreciate about the vinting of wine as well as the work and love that goes into it. You'll see one day if you choose to sitck it out... really :)

Every tried a high quality blush? Not too sweet or bitter. I personally prefer white wine, but everyone is different.

That is cute. I have really only begun to appreciate wine in the past year. It is meant to be taken with a meal, and specific wines go with certain kinds of food.

This is really sad, but I only like cheap wine. Arbor Mist is my secret friend. I've tried to like expensive wine, but it tastes like I'm paying to drink drain cleaner.

Maybe you've been drinking crappy wine. Is it wine specifically, or all alcohol you are repulsed by? Alcohol takes some acclimation to enjoy.

It's an acquired taste. Try some white zinfandel to start. I tastes kind of fruity instead of bitter.
