JAKARTA (Reuters) - Doctors and nurses in Indonesia, the world's most populous Muslim country, can no longer perform female genital cutting, a senior Health Ministry official said on Wednesday.

Some Indonesian communities encourage parents to cut parts of a newborn daughter's clitoris although the country's Islamic groups are in dispute over such non-therapeutic practices.

Sri Hermiyanti, who heads the ministry's family health directorate, said symbolic female circumcisions that do not involve physical damaging of the child still could be carried out.

"Hurting, damaging, incising, cutting the clitoris are not allowed. These acts violate the reproductive rights of these girls and harm their organs," said the doctor, adding the announcement has been circulated to health workers since April.

Ive like this guy for like a year now! and he knows about it, and he seems to maybe like me as well. I dont no what to do about it thought. If he does like me, i think that he should do something... is that bad? but I want something to happen. If i iniciate something... i dont no if things will go bad. Here 's the deal. I've been wit this one dude for a month now, and we're doing pretty good, (he just got outta jail in April) but there is something that is confusing me. Dont get me wrong, he calls me whenever he can, and tells me he loves me n stuff like that, and we spend as much time as we can together. I understand that he doesn't have nothing (i.e. clothes, money, car, etc.) since he came out, so I'm (lightweight) helping him out, but I dont want my kindness to be taken for a weakness. Does he really love me like he says or is he just using me to get money and materialism things like what I've been doing? Should I stop doing things for him? HELP!

So, I want to know if I am making stuff up on not. So, this guy I know has done the following actions: helped me with my furniture while suggesting I was a "princess," turned deep red when I gave him a hug, acted interested in my interests (and been enthusiastic about the music I liked), told me how to behave towards people in a way that was possessive and somewhat caring, too, chided me gently for getting too upset about something, smiled subtly out of the corner of his mouth when I looked at him, always responded to my emails, asked me on the phone when he would get to see my next (even though the occasion was only to play music), challenged me to have more of an appreciation for his line of work, quit an organization that offended me, and made a lot of time in a very busy schedule to spend with me as at least a fellow-musician, always sat next to me when we are hanging out with others. Is he flirting, or just friendly?

I had an amazing first date with an awesome guy, we had dinner, drinks, ended up in a hotel for 12 hours (having amazing sex), he called me the next day, and everyday since, and we've made plans for another date this weekend. I'm wondering if this is an exception to the rule.

So my statistics teacher was spouting out about how men aren't getting college diplomas, and women are more educated than men now, and men are more likely to be in dead-end jobs than women today... so does that mean that we're about to see a big crop of house husbands on the horizon? Or are women going to be afraid of marrying down, and expect their men (who are likely to be loosers compared to their women) to support them?

Women, would you support a man who was less educated and less successful than you?

Hi,
Ive been working at this department store for about two weeks, and have been working in the back with other guys. They are very "manly guys" and like to talk about girls and sex and how many girls they did etc...

Well Im not as "confident" as them, and In fact Im a virgin. They don't really know this, and they want me to be a player like them. They said I should ask out this new co-worker girl (just for sex at the end of the date they say), so I did ask her, but Im not attracted to her physically. She did say yes. So what should I do? I actually was thinking of qutting because I found a higher paying job, and just forget this ordeal, but I sure would have let them down.

I'm torn between two things I can do for my girlfriend. She told me she isn't exactly sure how she feels about me, and needs some time alone to think. To make a long story short I have come to 2 options.

1.) I keep pursuing her and let her know that I will do whatever it takes to keep her, and just be patient

2.) Let her go to find someone she KNOWS she has feelings for. I feel it's not fair for her to be with someone she's just not sure about. I feel like if I really do care for her, this is not what I want to do, but need to do, for her.

Obviously, I'd like to keep pursuing her, because I've really fallen for her, but I feel like doing the latter for her is for her good.

I'm not trying to sound all self-righteous, I just want her to be happy.

he says all this stuff about really liking me, that he doesnt want me to be with any other guys and is always really affectionate when im with him- kissing on the forehead, holding hands and hugging me, but he only calls every couple of weeks, and we never go anywhere where its just the 2 of us, just me and him and his friends. My ex-boyfriend(w/ a drinking problem)had broke up w/me 3 x's from 1999-2004.(1st x -after 6 ms. 2nd x -after 6 ms. 3rd x -after 9 ms.)He called again Feb.'06(Tuesday)joking that I'd not sent him a Christmas card that year)We talked awhile..he said he'd called 2-3 x's Dec.-Jan. He called a week later on Sunday morning 9:30 AM..said he was thinkin' about me.(all mushy and @#$%)Didn't re-ask our "night out" from before...just chatted.Said he'd call me soon. His grandpa's death announcement was in the paper 2 wks later.
