Singles & Dating - 11 September 2006

Here is the deal. I work as a librian at a major university. Im 35. There are about 3 girls that individually stop me and talk to me. Each smile all the time. I thought I was seeing things, but it happens several times a week. They are very friendly and touchy feely. They smile A LOT all the time at me and whenever they see me they run over and have a conversation. I smile and stuff too mostly cause I'm nervous Are these girls hittin on me? It seems like they are flirting in a way. What can all this mean?but whats going on? I'm also engaged. Ouch!!!

ok, now shes 13 I'm 15. We've been friends since like I wuz 7. Now it is totally obvious, because she makes herself perfectly clear, that she wants nothing more than to be friends. I am respeceting that, and giving her space, we havent talked about it 4 3 weeks. My question is, does she like me at all, or is she scared, cuz she says she doesnt want to ruin a friendship??

But, like a few months ago, it was completely obvious she liked me, I mean people thought we were dating, then she found out I liked her, and she reall backed off. And she told her mom, who she is really close to , that she is really scared, because she doesnt want to take the chance of ruining the friendship. But what should I do/ think:? Because, now she is like totally all over these other guys, like she used to be with me, and it rips my heart out. And please dont tell me I'm to young, I have like many girls, but none like her. I've been trying to let this go forever, but it is really really hard, because I really care for her, I would do anything in this world, anything to be with her, but I want her to be happy , and if shes not happy with me, thats fine. But what should i do?

I have always struggled for that day we have always been minipulated in wishing for. Fairytale stories and actors and actresses in movies all play the part very well. Damn you might even see to people on the street who look so perfect together, only meaning that life has been a little eaiser for them. I am raising four children and have broken one heart in the process of exepting certian things about myself. I say this guy couldn't have arrived at a worce time. I no how it feels to have a broken heart but I don't think I can love another man again because of so many heartbreaking situations I have been through. I really didn't mean to break his heart. I have been in an awesome relationship with my boyfriend for almost 3 years. We have lived together for 2 and now work together also. We do everything together. He has had a "cheating" past in other relationships though. He wants to marry me one day and tells me he would never cheat on me because i give him everything he wants. ok so what do u do when u r approached by a hottie while u r pumping gas and she tells u this story how she spent all her money getting her car fixed cause it just broke down and she really needs money for gas...not just a lil gas though...she needs to pretty much fill her tank cause she lives pretty far from the gas station....do u give her money? do u make sure she spends it on the gas?....what to do???

2 months ago I corresponded with and met someone on the personals. He just placed the ad because he was looking for friends. But, instead we talk and find that we have a GREAT deal in common and like each other alot. However, his divorce was final only 3 months ago and he's (understandably) not ready to commit to a relationship. I'm "seeing other people" but I am curious what the consensus of the group would be regarding how long to keep the "possibility open" especially if you have been through this before. The match is too good for "just dump him altogether" advice, we both agree on that much. If you have been through a nasty divorce, how long was it before you felt really open to finding someone else?
