Singles & Dating - 6 July 2006

We met on a Christian Mingle site. He started in with the love talk fairly quick. He was calling and when it came him wanting to meet in person, he did not want to come to America. He said travel would be easier for me because he would have to request a visa from his country, South Africa. Now, he never calls me and we IM but, I do not really want to be bothered with being emotionally enthraled with someone so far away. I am a woman and feel safer if he were to come here. Another thing is that he wants me to stay at his apartment; I feel that any person traveling that far to meet a stranger should have their own space. Meaning, stay at a hotel. He disappeared for 4 days a few weeks ago and I was upset because he just did not think about how I would feel. He did not see why I was upset. He said he was busy but, if he did not make time in a busy situation by typing a message, what would I expect from him all the way in China?

I am in love, the person lives 700 miles away and i would move there in a heart beat to be with him. We have not yet done a official relationship, but were very close and are very close friends.
I want to be with him, but he says "i really can't do a relationship right now". He says that he doesn't want to close the door on this and does want to try, but not right now. He says he knows that this is basically leading me on, and very unfair, but that he just can't commit to a relationship.

What do i do?

And staying a virgin also. I just wanted to see what many thought of this point of view. Is there anyone that on here that is doing this, and proud of it? I am. And also wanting to be a example to other, helping them see another way of life. Sex is always talked about, and ways to be safe. But what happened to teaching the safe what not to have a child out of marriage, and avoiding disease? It seems like people don't learn, until it happens to them, or someone they know.

Then, one day it dawns on you, and you go right to it...same with finding a mate. Let him come to you, don't go out looking for something in vein cause you usually just end up wasting your precious time with jerks who aren't even worth it. I think it could be. He found me first. But now I have to find him. I can't wait and do nothing, which is about my only option left and it's not working either. I believed for a long time, I still do, I just can't entirely leave it up to fate or life or patience or anything. See my other q's for info. I'm still young, under 25. its been like, 3 months since we broke up. i know i should just get over it by now, but its hard since ive liked him for like, ever! One of his friends (also my friend too) told me that he was dating some other girl. (shes in 8th grade, will be a freshmen this coming year and me and him is gonna be sophomores) Hes even told me that im better than her but if thats so then why is he with her and not me? yesterday i was looking @ a dating site and saw this profile that looked really cool. im like wow -im mailing her -so i did.
note her name nor pics were posted
so i send the email & got a quick responce and guess what...
i knew her years ago and see her here and there.

shes like how did you not know it was me. and im like well lets see we havent hung out in forever, you didnt have a real name posted or any pics... geezzzz i wonder.
anyway nuts embarrassing

the crazy thing is when she writes back she is like "maybe if you didnt smoke" (she just quit and i am trying)
then she invites me to an art reception tonight and gives me her number so i can call her to go out to coffee w/ her.

--question:
is she just looking to catch up
or is she interested in possibly dating me.

note: we never use to really hang out so the invite seems a little strange. as this will be the first time weve ever went for coffee.
