Specifically why are so many answers in the Family and Relationship Category written by people who claim limited life experience and no special education or training? Do they really believe that they are helping others or are they just venting their own opinions?

I have a picture from Lick Fork Kentucky that was giving to me from my father. On the back of the picture, there are the names of Blain and Eugene Boulin. My father said this picture was taken sometime around 1917 by a newspaper reporter from New York. My father thinks one of the gentlemen in the picture might be a relative of his.

I visit my g/f at her house and talk to her parents probably about once every 3 weeks. She, however, never wants to come over to my house. She shows no interest in wanting to meet my family again. She's met them once, but she is unwilling to do so again. She never told me this because that would be rude, but her actions prove that beacuse she's never come over and never wanted to. We've been going out for 5 months, and she met them once in the first month of us going out. For example, my parents wanted to take her out for her birthday that just recently passed, but she declined due to her having too much work, which she DOES. She's in the middle of exams right now, but she shows no willingness to make a date AFTER her exams. Keep in mind, in the past 4 months, her grandmother died, and her mother got very sick and is still recovering. Will this pass? Should I wait? What should I do? I try to create a relationship with her parents and she doesn't do so with mine. Is that right?

i'm a sixteen year old girl and people say i have a good head on my shoulders and that i'm very smart. i conciously make an effort to be kind to people because my dad says i'm this TERRIBLE, WORTHLESS person. he also says that i dont treat him well. i recently moved away from him and now my mom is claiming that i dont treat her and my siblings well. when i asked if im like my dad she said no. i dont know if i'm abusive or not. if so i want to distance myself from other people and get help. WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ABUSIVE PERSON?

my boyfriend & i were celebrating one night & were drinking heavily & all lovey dovey. well, i walked upstairs (all the light were off) & he followed a few minutes later from the kitchen area. all of a sudden he popped me right in the lip. he has no recollection thanks to mr. jack daniels & also from crown royal. i think i might have scared him when he came around the corner and he just reacted the wrong way. well, of course i start yelling at him and the neighbors heard through the paper thin walls and called the cops. all they asked was did he hit me and for my driver license then arrested him. i have to show up in court tomorrow, but i want the charges dropped. what can i expect from the court appearance since i didnt press charges - the state did -and is it possible to get the charges dropped? i have known him forever and he treats me like a queen and is a good guy who just made a mistake. we're not even allowed to speak to each other and we're in the process of moving in together!

My boyfriend and I broke up. He has over a thousand dollars worth of my paintball equipment that he refuses to give back because he says I owe him money. He gave me money to start a home based business he never stipulated he would take my stuff if I didn't pay him back. I would have gladly paid him back but my business didn't work out. I opted to have a cosmetic surgery and he offered to pay for half I paid all the up front costs and and he never paid his half. So I think he owes me money to but I just want to call it all even, get my stuff back and move on. Any suggestions? And reasoning with him is not possible.

I'm talking about those guys that are always smiling, scrawny, unathletic, high-pitched, good-dressers, and laughing at things that girls laugh at. Yea...I might have answered my own question in that last sentence 'cus I'm sure girls want to have fun, but I just don't get it when it comes down to serious relationships that go beyond friendship for this group of guys. I mean, evolutionarily, these guys are at the bottom of the pack most of the time.

I am 7 months pregnant with a man I have been with for two years. He is 33 and says he never wants to get married and loves me but "is not in love with me." He says at some point after the baby is born, I will need to move out and on with my life, but he will always be there for us, be in our lives and love us. Has anyone else been through something similar, what was the outcome, and is there any chance that once our baby comes that he will have a different outlook on things? He just says he loves his freedom too much to ever get married- could the baby change this? Thanks for your oppinions and experiences. I'm just in a difficult place right now and could use the advice.

My Girlfriend and i had planned to go on holiday in october to Thailand. Neither of us are very good savers, and now with 6 months to go we realise that we probably can't afford it this year.

We have a lot of debts anyway and can barely afford to get by, and in order to pay for flights we're going to have to save up as we have no other way of paying for it. but going to Thailand is something that she has always wanted to do, and is extremely disappointed by the thought of not being able to go this year and now has nothing to look forward to.

How can i show her that we can still look forward to going to thailand, but we're just going to have to put it back a bit. I'm disappointed myself, but you have to look at it from a realistic point of view, how can i explain this to her without her thinking that im putting a dampener on the situation/bursting her bubble? help!

I am very interested in this guy and we have been out a few times, including once with my friends. But the other night when we went out he told me that he is giving up on dating and that he can never meet the right girls. I have to admit I was pretty crushed, because I wanted more, namely a relationship. Afterwards we were sitting in his car talking and he told me that I'm so great and that he loves spending time with me because he knows that I find the things he says and does funny, and do not get scared away by him being himself and that we have the same type of personalities. I feel the same way about him, I know that I can always be myself with him and that he makes me laugh, and happy. I guess I'm not sure what he means because when he said he was giving up dating I took it to mean that he just didn't want to date me, but then he made me second guess it when he told me how great he thought I was. Does he have feelings for me or does it seem like he just wants to be friends?

Ok ive raised my daughter since carpet crawlin days .
Short an sweet the other half didnt want her.
since then I did a complete 360 an devoted my life to her.
But now here is the Deal Alot of men dont like premade famlies true.
well Women are in the same frame of mind .
so to men an women lets stop hating an start loving . single parents are human to.
we have feeling an give a lot .
going to bed alone an doin it all youre self gets old after a while .
I restructured my hole life just for my daughter of 12yrs
an i would do it again if i had to!
So what iam asking why do women Do the same as men but in a different version.

my boyfriend is 21 and i'm 15 (PLEASE don't go on and on telling me how wrong it is - i've heard it too many times - and it's legal in canada) and my dad has always hated him (even though he knows nothing about him). we started having sex about a month ago and a few days ago i told my mom, who ended up telling my dad and now he won't talk to me, he won't look at me... he's just so upset i can't believe it. i knew he wouldn't like it but i didn't knew it would make him get THIS mad!
i just don't know what to do about my dad... i'm hoping he'll get over it but it doesn't look like it right now. this is making him so sad and i'm getting really depressed again. what i don't understand is that in january i was hospitalized because my depression got really bad. my dad said over and over: the only thing i want is for you to be happy.. i would do anything for you to go back to the way you used to be. and now i'm happy, i'm so happy.. but my dad is just mad it makes no sense! what do i do?
