i'm a sixteen year old girl and people say i have a good head on my shoulders and that i'm very smart. i conciously make an effort to be kind to people because my dad says i'm this TERRIBLE, WORTHLESS person. he also says that i dont treat him well. i recently moved away from him and now my mom is claiming that i dont treat her and my siblings well. when i asked if im like my dad she said no. i dont know if i'm abusive or not. if so i want to distance myself from other people and get help. WHAT ARE THE CHARACTERISTICS OF AN ABUSIVE PERSON?

Ask your doctor to refer you for medical counseling, and then ask the counselor these questions; he/she will be better able to answer them and also give you guidance on handling your relationships with your family and others.

Don't make this difficult; just go ahead and do it, the sooner the better. Then you can concentrate on the rest of your life, without all this stress.

I dnt think theres anything wrong with you it seems like theres something wrong with your family no offence. I don't know much about your life but if you feel that the problem is because of you then there are many ways to get help.

Good luck xxxxxxxxxxx

controlling, rage, hitting, name calling, scarred, there are alot of things. By the sounds of it I think you do have problems because both your parents would not be saying the same thing so maybe you do need help. Recognizing that you need help is the first step in helping yourself. I was on the other end of the rage and it takes alot away from you so please get help.

Inflicting physical or verbal pain. It depends on the amount. If you do it a little, its normal. If you do it alot, THEN its abusive.
