Friends - January 2007

I don't necessarily want to regain her friendship, but she was my best friend before the incident, and I do care about her. I want to give her a very special present for her 19th birthday, but her parents are so angry with me and my parents that they would probably dispose of it without telling her if it came in the mail. How can I get it to her?

One saturday,best friends of 9 years and I go walking. I'll call them A and B. B is the one who I thought was my closest friend because we understood each other, or so I thought. A tells me "I know you're gonna disapprove, but we're buying pot". They know I'm opposed to drugs, I dont bother them, I only tell them I dont like it. B is the one who invited me on this, knowing of whatsgoing to happen. I asked about 5 times what we're going to do that night, and she never tells. We approach the corner where they go to meet the dealer. They go south, so I go west. I walk away, they say sorry, but it wasnt meant. I walk alone, at 8PM to a starbucks. alone. my best friends leave me be alone for drugs. 20 minutes later, they call about my whereabouts. I regretfully tell them, and they show up. The rest of the night is filled with awkward silence. I dont hear from them 2 weeks. Then they finally apologize, but it's extremely impersonal only because my friend told them. What do I do with them?

I know a few people that do this and I get really annoyed by it. If you actualy say that you have something nice they get P O -ed big time. I think it is just so rude to brag about EVERYTHING. Now some things I will say people do deserve bragging rights though!! But I need to know how to deal with a few in particular. Thanks

You see, the situation I have is, I work three jobs, and am very busy. I do what I can, around the house, including the cleaning, cooking, laundry, bill-paying, financing..and sometimes I think I'm losing my mind and need to just 'get away from everyone' - including my own children!!
Is it wrong for me to want to take a holiday without my family??? I feel bad that I even think this, but, over the course of 12 years, all my money and work and energy has been for the kids and hubby, and I feel like I am being smothered, and want to break free. I dont' mean like, for good, but just for a while. I feel impatient, tired, restless, and eager to just find some quiet time, without ANYONE bothering me or asking me questions, etc...
I guess it would be a holiday from work, family and friends - because to some degree, they ALL bring on stress in my life....
So, is it wrong for me to want to get away from my family, and do something for 'me'?? ((guilty))... :-(

Ok so i know we all use excuses for skipping class so i'm wondering not which are the lamest but what are the best excuses you've used to cut class and got away with it...because sure its easy to come up with a lame excuse but it takes talent to have a good excuses and the acting talent to go with it...

ok so a girl in my group, group A said mean things abt me behind my back. im not rly friends w/any1 in that group except for "Anne". I want to go to group B- nice ppl im friends w/, but i dont wanna ditch anne b/c the ppl in group B hate anne and anne doesnt rly have any friends in group A. Help!!!

I live in South Florida and like to keep the AC on and at 75 degrees. She says this is freezing! I even pay more money towards the ultilities because of this. I had a fever tonight and she was still complaining. I told her 75 degrees is normal, not freezing. She completely disagrees. I am getting frustrated. What do I do? She loves humidity, I don't. Help!!!

We served in the Navy together. We were the best of friends until she got out the service. She was like all of my friends and family rolled into one person. Being young and new to the ship she made sure I knew where to go and what to do. For 3 years we did everything together. My family even took care of her when she had the chicken pox. (my husband & I had it when we were younger) When my husband was out to sea and I had surgery she was there for me. Thru all that we were not all that expressive with feelings. I don't want to seem like a crazy person but I do want her to know I have never had a Best friend like her.

My best friend let me know awhile ago that she had stronger feelings for me than she should . She was so scared to tell me because she thought I wouldn't want to talk to her anymore. I let her know we could still be friends and I figured it was just a phase because of our closeness. Nothing happened. Then a week ago she kisses me! I didnt know how to react so I let it happen not to hurt her feelings. It turned out to be really passionate and I enjoyed it and let things go further. Now I'm stuck. She wants to be with me but Im only into guys but we are so cool I dont know how to tell her without hurting her. She really wants a relationship with me but all I want is to be best friends again. She is acting like she is really in love but says we can always be "just friends." People are starting to notice and make comments and it is making me uncomfortable. What do I do? How can I get out of this and not lose the best friend I've ever had?
