One saturday, best friends of 9 years and I go walking. I'll call them A and B. B is the one who I thought was my closest friend because we understood each other, or so I thought. A tells me "I know you're gonna disapprove, but we're buying pot". They know I'm opposed to drugs, I dont bother them, I only tell them I dont like it. B is the one who invited me on this, knowing of whatsgoing to happen. I asked about 5 times what we're going to do that night, and she never tells. We approach the corner where they go to meet the dealer. They go south, so I go west. I walk away, they say sorry, but it wasnt meant. I walk alone, at 8PM to a starbucks. alone. my best friends leave me be alone for drugs. 20 minutes later, they call about my whereabouts. I regretfully tell them, and they show up. The rest of the night is filled with awkward silence. I dont hear from them 2 weeks. Then they finally apologize, but it's extremely impersonal only because my friend told them. What do I do with them?

Thanks for all your help.
For that person that asked, I'm 17. They're making a lifestyle out of it. I would've gotten into more detail, but it didnt let me type enough. Friend A is getting bad, B claims to start staying away from it, and she says she's concerned of A, but then why would she go with her and support her that day if she was concerned? Now B is trying to talk to me, but it's stupid small talk as if nothing has happened.
A friendship for 9 years is really hard to let go, that's why I'm really hesitant.

You didn't give your age. But young people often experiment with pot. I can understand not wanting to hang with druggies. But don't write your friends off too quickly. You need to gauge if the pot buy-n-smoke is a lark or a lifestyle. If it's a lifestyle you may need to go your own way for a while.
I am sorry to hear that it's becoming a lifestyle for them. Sad to say - but it's time to move on to new friends. Maybe they will come back to you later in life and you'll all be able to laugh about this now sad period.

These are not friends. A friend is someone that you can count on and they can count on you. If they are into drugs you don't want to be involved with them. You seem to be a smart person and I think you know you need to walk away from them for good. Join a club or sport and meet people with your own interests and values. You were only 8 when you became friends. Unfortunately, people grow up differently. We each choose our path to follow and you choose not to follow theirs. Good for you - stay strong.

Good for you for sticking up for what you believe in. You are going to meet people all through out your life that will do things you may not like. It's your choice if you want to be around that or not. I would suggest finding some friends with the same beliefs as you.

don't try to get in on it, this is gunna sound stupid but say no to drugs, i've seen so many ppl get f'ed up on them, it's not worth it, i think you need to talk to them, and tell them that you think it was rude that they kept it from you and deliberatly invited you when they knew you wouldnt want in on it, and tell them that when you hang out with them you don't want them doing it, and if they want to do it on their own, and throw their life away they can do it on nights your not around to witness it. and tell them that you felt their appology was impersonal and that you only disapprove because you care, because im sure thats how you feel. ..hope that helps

Please just move on, youre not on the same page, thats not to say that your better than, but your just not and trust me youre better off and there are people like you that you can have fun with. some and not all of that can lead to really destructive behaviour down the road, please dont get caught up in it. take good care and good for you.
