Friends - December 2006

Does anybody have any advice on getting to know people you kind of know better? They're not exactly good friends but I would kind of want to be better friends with them. How would you start conversation? When? And what would you talk about?

My grandson was raised by his mother, my daughter, and she has made him kinda a "wooze". He would rather play video games, which he is good at, than get his hands dirty. He isnt into sports, has tried hockey and baseball, but does like basketball. Jus not aggressive, and gets his feelings hurt easily. He has lots of friends, but no particular close friend.
]He is in Middle school this year, and the kids pick on him some, take his things out of his locker, throw his shoe into the shower, he laughs and teases back somewhat. His father and mother got back together 3 yrs ago, so there is a man and his grandpa was ALWAYS in his life. But he attended a birthday party of a "friend", and the friend shot him with air gun, and was teasing him about being "gay". He is just a quiet, feeling kid, and dont want him bullied or pushed around. His dad told him to push the kids, if they pushed him, but you hear so much about BULLYING, how do you handle this? As parent, she is at wits end. Thank

i have known my best guy friend for 3 or 4 years and have liked him [more like love] for that long too. i never knew he liked me before. this last couple of weeks we were both in pep band and sat next to each other. each time we would have a break from the music we would lay back in the bleachers and talk. he would keep complementing me and we would just laugh and be really happy togeather. yesterday we had a game and we talked like usual then he would start to move closer to me and touch my feet with his. then when we wre both on the internet he said that he loves me alot. so then i told him that i love him too and he got very happy and excited. i havent talked to him scince last night but we will on monday.i'm not sure if he will ask me out or not but i have a pretty good feeling that he will. what are your thoughts on this situation? i really love him.

say if you had 4 friends and one of them is your best friend and the others were just friends. You guys are doing a secret santa--where you draw the names of your friends and whatever name you got, secretivily you would get them a chrstmas gift. Then say one of those friends told your best friend (secretivily) that you (as in yourself) shouldn't be in it. Then the next day all of your friends including your best friend, but NOT you went to the mall. When they were there, they decided to do the secret santa without you and bought there gifts right, then and there so would not be in it! would YOU be mad?

If i stop calling my friend, will she realize that i am breaking up with her?
i cant take her anymore, she is so jealous over her heels, i have to let her go..... i only feel bad about myself whenever i hang out with her. ...... and i am not good with that type of emotionals conversations, so i decided to stop calling her complitelly, do u think she will get the picture?

I lost my second husband 5 years ago. I caught him in a photo i had taken at our son's house. That was chilling enough. I found my first husband on the internet and got an address for him. I gave him my numbers . The next day, i checked my messages and he sure enough left me 2 numbers. I was taking a break while out shopping, so I called one of them. His brother answered the phone and when I asked to talk to him , there was deadly silence for about 20 seconds. Then I heard him talking in a voice that was very sad. I am really sorry to have to be the one to tell you, he said, but....he died last night. Stunned, i asked him what had happened, he said he was suppose to met him to go out foe his birthday dinner and he found him on the floor, he was , unconsience and that was about 6 P.M. He was in a coma and died at 11:30 P.M. But I got the call from him at 9:16P.M. He said he had gotten my letter and had read it, but he couldn't have called me because he was brain dead then. ???

The guys I mostly attract are nerds and guys that aren't too hott (no offense). I never get approached. I'm 18, freshman in college, and have never had a relationship. I did have crushes in the past, but those never worked out. I had this major crush on this guy for like a year, but now he's going out with my pretty friend. Of course, they don't know I ever had a crush on him. I wear braces, but I know that doesn't have anything to do as to why I can't get a guy.

I can't even date outside of my religion, and all the guys at church are practically taken. That means I can't date any of them at all because they've already dated a friend of mine. I can't even impress guys outside of chruch. Maybe because I'm not into all the things other girls are into. I'm not into partying. I love the visual arts and want to go to medical school. Am I too nerdy? It's like I have no confidence in myself sometimes. I don't even know how to talk to a guy I like.

Me and my friend fight last week. So we got suspende 3 days. Then my friend didn't want to be my friend. She spread a rumor about me having a girlfriend which I'm a girl. So everybody in my class called me a lesbian. That is sexual harrasment. If so can I reported to the principle so my ex best friend will be suspended again.

i dated a woman for a few months about 5 yrs ago....but we have remained really good friends since....about 4 yrs ago she started seeing a new guy and i was really happy for her..i dont have any feelings of romantic nature for her anymore...i dont get to see her much cos i went back to the uk and i came back to nz every couple of yrs...well im back in nz for good and this guy is really pissed off that we stayed friends..she has to lie to see each other otherwise she has massive arguements with him...she told him im back in the country and he thru a massive tantrum...she told him that he has to deal with the friendsship or its over..but she loves him so she prob wont go thru with it...i want to say friends with her..but he can get nasty verbally if i ever catch up with them..i want to walk away but her friendship means to much to me..but right now im thinking its not worth the hassle...any ideas and thoughts?

My bestfriend's girlfriend broke up with him yesterday.
they were seeing each other for almost 2 years...he is really sad about it... I called him to go to some parties, but he is not in the mood...he just wants to sit at home...
But I saw his ex-girlfriend today in a party with another guy.

I told him I saw her at a party and he got upset about it.

I have a friend that I have known since I was a freshman and he has been my best friend since then. Now we are both married and have one boy each. I thought it would be nice if they played together but his wife odes not want anything to do with me or my child. She won't even let me talk to my friend. We have never dated or even thought about it. We have never done anything except hang out as friends. She never had a problem before we had kids with but now I dont know. She was a good friend to she knew us in school and was also a close friend to us. So what do you think her problem is? My husband has no problem with it.I mean good gosh we are just friends. Hey guys aim feeling terribly lonely and insecure I feel unstable and not safe I waat to move nearer to my mum and I want to make up for things I have done because I feel lonely unloved. I feel I want to move closer to my family because I wnat security and safety . I dont know what to do I know I have done some awful things please help me guys what do I do .
