Honestly, you should find another girlfriend.
I know that you must like her a lot, but you can find someone who suits you better. Relationships are supposed to be fun, not tears all the time.

Stop being desperate, if you show desperation, she can walk all over you, and then bang, make it all right with an I am sorry, but if you really want this to work out, the best thing to do, is tell her that you are commited to her and when she gets mad at som, ething small and wants to break up, then it gives you no security that she feels the same way, and tell her the next time she freaks out, your going to give her her space so she can figure things out, also ask her what you can do to lighen up, like what jokes make her mad, and try to aviod that kind of joking. She may be PMS-ing or something, but it could be more serious if shes like that a lot, she may have a hormonal imbabalce, or depression, anxietyies, etc... I hope all works well, and whatever happens have the strenth to stick up for your feelings.

Maybe she just doesn't feel the same way about you that she used to... I mean, she probably still feels some kind of love for you but she might not want the relationship anymore.
That is a pretty common feeling at 18 since you have not had a chance to experience a lot of romantic relationships. If she wants to end the relationship, you should let her. If you two are meant to be then she will come back. And if not, you are better off letting her go now than holding on to something that won't last.

I can tell you that the jokes don't have anything to do with the conflict. She sounds like she's unhappy and uses the jokes as an excuse to bring up the topic of breaking up. Without knowing more details, it's kinda hard to say what's causing her unhappiness. It could be that she's loves the IDEA of what the relationship should be, but is unhappy when reality doesn't match. It also could be that she's experiencing depression, and is just unhappy in general. If you care about her, talk it out and get her some help if she suspects that she's depressed.

1. maybe she finds your jokes offensive
2. maybe she wants to break up with you and is looking for
excuses.
3.maybe she's experiencing some 'hormonal turbulence' in her
body that makes her emotional and extra sensitive.
4. You should have an older person, who's female and who she
trusts to talk to her and find out what the problem is

What are your jokes about? They may offend her in some way. Maybe you guys should take a break for a while if you can't figure out what is going on. Or maybe she is drinking and is not herself? I am stuck on this one.
