I became very close friends with a girl I met at work the other year. It has been 2 years since we met and we both consider each other to be our respective best friend. About a year ago, I asked her out. I was rejected. We somehow continued to be best friends, despite the awkwardness at the beginning. We have really grown since then and talk everyday. However, whenever she starts dating a new guy or hooks up with another it tears me up inside. I don't know what to do, the sure fire way is to distance myself from her but if I do that I lose a best friend, but if I don't I still get torn up to an extent. Suggestions?

What do you do if you live with someone (roomie) and she is SO negative that you realize that she brings you down and affects your life? How do you deal with that? I have a lease for another year with her and we were once close friends (that's changing) but now she drinks too much and gets mean. She's also so negative and paranoid about her life. It really affects me. How do I deal with this without causing any more problems for myself?

alright. to my question earlier (WHat to Do?) I have told friends when they have hurt me and felt like that I did it in a civil way. But everytime that I do tell them how they have hurt me or tried to take space from them, our friendships end. I am down from about 5 really good friends to almost none? Sometimes I feel like people cannot take the truth about life.-rambling.....
should I just be a fake person and a fence rider(soneone who acts like they get along with everyone-no opinions for themselves) or stand up for what I believe in and end up loosing all of my friends.

I have a friend that I loaned money to this week(because I thought that she needed it for her children) then I found out that that same night she went out drinking. I was so mad because I have a child too and I could have used that money for him. This just adds to the list of things that she has done to me. i have a ten month old brother and he is my world i pretty much raised him my mom was gone all the time he acts like im his mom when i leave to school they say he calls my name all day. everyhere i go everyone thinks hes mine and i dont correct them is that bad? My friend is cutting herself really bad but she lied to me and said her dad dug her nails into her arm and her arm looks horrible.i really believed her but i thought about it and some things didnt add up well i figured out she had lied to me , she said she could tell that her dad abused her and she want to go live wit her mom who lives on the other side of the country but her dad wont let her. im afraid she mite do something really bad to herself she talks about how she wants to commit suicide sometimes and it scares me. i dont know what to do about her im really scared. I've been told i have an awesome personality and stuff but i dont have very many friends. only like 3. Im 18, work full time, and currently taking one class in college at night cuz i gotta work (im gonna take more classes next semster but all at night). im not ugly and have good clothing style and such. im nice to everyone and i love making people happy. (but i am annoyingly Mature for my age--like a 30yr old stuck in an 18 yr old body.) but how come it seems like people still dont like me? like when i was in high school, i joined clubs and played soccer and even then it didnt seem like anyone wanted to be my friend. they barely spoke to me. i was always by myself and last to get a partner. even now, i dont have much a social life at all. i see all my college classmates having a blast and for godsake, have comments on their facebook/myspace from more than 5 different people! i will talk to people but then they treat me like im some sort of loser or something. whats the deal?

My friend is scaring me.
