Do you think there might be a reason behind her telling you these lies, for example she might think so much of you and know you think a lot of her, that she might feel if she tells you the truth you would be dissapointed with her or something, maybe she loves you that much that the thought of dissapointing you is too hard for her.
If you are a true friend I think you should sit her down and confront her about it- get to the bottom of it- reassure her that she can tell you anything and that she doesnt need to lie, especially as it hurts you to find out she has lied.
I hope you can work through it as it would be a shame to loose a strong friendship like that.

My best friend (who's white ) dated a guy from trinidad (he's black). She fell pregnant and then split up from him. Her baby was born black and she tried to tell me she'd left him out in the sun too long ! Go figure. She forgot I took the same Human Biology courses as she did in Nursing College , Not to mention the common sense factor. Needless to say we are not friends anymore. So take heart you are not the only person who has had problems with friends.

sounds like your believing these other people, maybe it's not your friend that's lying, just because you are best friends doesn't mean you have to tell each other everything, try and be patient with her she's maybe going through a rough patch

If she was doing that it was not nice, but then agian some people can just be nasty, it must of hurt you to find this out. I would feel betrayed have a talk with her, maybe she is jealous of you.

Try and get her and the people she told together and then just bring the subject up, if she's telling lies you'll see it in her face !.

You wouldn't be friends very long if you told eachother EVERYTHING. Don't worry about it, she probably just doesn't want to repeat things that may be hurtful or may harm your friendship.
