I'm invited to an old friend's baby shower. It's a 5-hour drive, so I've decided I'm not going. At my job, I have access to TONS of children's books.
Is it wrong for me to give her some children's books as a gift-- and nothing else? Or should I send something that I actually bought, too?

I am 22 and have been chatting with an online friend for past 4 years. we never met. He is friendly and caring. But he likes to bug me a lot and recently he has been doing it too frequently and it pisses me of. i just hate him for that but everytime i see him come online, I can't stop myself from messageing him. Last night he did it again and I logged off. he sent many messages saying sorry but I didn't reply him and I cried like a baby. WHATS WRONG WITH ME?

I thought that I really did have a true friend at work, but I am finding out that reality is I dont. Its like I heard that her FAther was not doing well, so of course I email her, basically telling her that I have them in my prayers and I hope things go well today. I dont hear from her at all at least saying thank you or anything. And its not that today in particular I am expecting to hear something. But its like this all the time. It hurst because I do consider her my friend. What should I do?

Hi my name is Jen and iam 15 years old , my crush's name is Nick and he plays varsity football.... He was new to my school and he was only in my morning metting room.. So on his first day i said hi and asked him where he was from.. Then he told me if I could show him around school.. so ofcourse .. i did..... Then 2 weeks passed and he saw me cleaning the teachers desk and since then he teases me and calls me Janitor... we usually flirt around by dissing each other but we laugh and we always keep eye contact.. One day we were playing around and he came over to me and said iam going to beat u up and choke u.. but he was just playing... he went over to my desk and put his arms around my neck but it was more like a hug...Then that same day he arrives at my locker in the afternoon and i turned around and i said u freaking scared me so he said oh so u dont want me to be here and i said no i didnt say that.. Then he said see ya around... b/c he knows we live one street away... He asked me if i was going to the football game and i said maybe.. i just dont have no one to go with.. so he said if i wasnt playing in the game i wouldve gone with u to spend time... so then today night was the game and i saw his couch screaming at him but i realized he was looking at me instead of the coach.. so he was staring at me and i stared back......next week.. i was trying to talk to his friend and he kept interrupting me... and i told him your so mean and he said .... Iam sorry.... The he told his friend that i wanted to ask him out.... then his friend said i know who u wanna ask out and he turned red..
Do u think iam the person he likes? but therefore iam not sure if he does b/c he gives me mixed signals.. like today he said ... oh u say hi to my friend but u dont say hi to me.... but then he calls me a tellytubby.. in other ways isnt he calling me fat? iam confused....

I work in an office environment and my co-worker is in the same department I am. for some odd reason he dislikes me and he is rude and conceited and he makes my day feel like crap. i have tried to ignore him, but I can't do that much because our job requires input from the both of us. My girlfriend has been there for me endlessly. When I broke up with my boyfriend, she was there to catch me. Lately, her 5 yr old daugther has told me in her own little words that men have been coming in and out of the house every night. Different men. There is this kid at my school who just got suspended last week for 5 days for sexual harrassment. He asked me to the homecoming dance, and I said no. That's not the problem. After I said no, he was really hurt, i think, and didn't talk to me for the rest of the day. The next day, he sat next to me, and (besides the reason he was suspended) he is really nice. He told me that he was going to send me a "candygram" thing. How can I tell him, without "killing" him, that I don't like him? I don't want to be mean, its just that I can't be wit kid with that sort of new reputation, it would make me look like a....well...you know. I'm confused!

me and my bestfriend had a little fight and now she won't talk to me. tell you the truth she wasn't really a friend, she would always stop being my friend, hang out with someone who didn't like me and them two would make fun of me. then she's be back to being my friend. Also when my ex cheated on me and she was mad or i think she was, anyway she'd go hang out with him and the girl he cheated on me with, she'd hangout with them. then when there wasn't enough seats for me to go with them she's leave me by myself. is that a friend?

I was friends with this girl, good friends. She helped me out of a really bad relationship. My ex happened to be her boyfriends best friend. After she broke up with him, she went out and started dating my ex. I have it on good authority that nothing ever happened between them while I was with him, or she was with her boyfriend. I have since told her that I will not speak to her while she is still with this guy. The worst part is, she cheated on him, it got back to him, and he blamed me for it. Sent me a text message calling me a "stupid, jealous b****." I knew about it, i told one person, who doesn't know anyone involved but me, and could care less. Am I right for telling her that I want nothing to do with her, while she continually tries to get me to forgive her and accept her choice? And why is my ex blaming her cheating getting back to him on me?

A few years ago, my friend who was in a long term relationship, fell for a married girl at work. They had a brief fling. My friend's partner found out and they separated. The husband found out about the affair but they stayed together. My friend still has strong feelings for this girl and hasnt been out with anyone since.
