A few years ago, my friend who was in a long term relationship, fell for a married girl at work. They had a brief fling. My friend's partner found out and they separated. The husband found out about the affair but they stayed together. My friend still has strong feelings for this girl and hasnt been out with anyone since. She wont leave her husband (they have a child) I think that she is stringing him along. Is it a case of her husband is controlling her and therefore she is controlling my friend? what should he do ?

Move on! Dont think there is any hope at all where a married women is concerned. There is a harsh reality in life...wen the man in a marriage has the affair more often than women he has the will power to leave...because a man does not agonise over his decision...but often regrets it later. But wen a married women has an affair she is emotional less confident than the man...and the reality is that she will think through her actions ..esp any children, family home involved and wen it comes to the crunch...not very many women have the will power to get up and leave everything. But if and wen they do...most of the time they know what they are doing. Sounds like that the married girl is of the majority type...I think she's had her side part but altho she probably dus care about him (ur frend), its not strong enuf for her to leave her married life... so simply...steer him away from this situation he will only end up getting hurt!

He should move on - it won't be easy but she can't up and leave the marriage and abandon the child, she has to try at least to keep her marriage intact - there isn't just your friend and the girl at work involved, there's a husband and child also. He should also how would it impact his career in work if it all came out that the girl was leaving her husband and child for him? At any rate they both need to make a final decision and move on, for both their sakes.

Your friend should not have got involved with a married woman in the first place. Naturally her husband wont be too happy with the idea. Your friend should forget about this MARRIED woman and find himself a single girl. Tell him that if she is prepared to mess her husband about she will do the same to him.

Clearly the married girl realized that she doesn't want to loose her husband and is probably working hard at keeping her marriage. I think your friend should move on, there are plenty of people out there that are single.

there's no point leaving the home to be with the girl he had the affair with, you cant have a relationship that began with living lies..there would be no trust to build with..if she not happy with her husband she should leave..but only for the right reason.

let go and get on with his life. if this has been going on for years, then she obviously has no intention of leaving her husband, seems like she wants the thrill of the forbidden and the safety of a husband, dump her, find somebody else, somebody who loves him and not the situation.
